Have a wonderful trip. I remember my first solo trip in 2008. My grandson asked me if I would be bored, because I was visiting Disneyland for the first time by myself. My prior trips before that were with 4 people in 2005, 7 people in 2006, and 2 others in 2007. I said no, of course not. I have made friends online, and sometimes meet up with them in the parks. I also have a saying. "If you don't have fun on your vacation, than it's your own fault".

Today, United Airlines credited my Credit card with the amount of 2 airline tickets. I must say that I am impressed.

Wonderful news! Like they say, it never hurts to ask! Nice to know the airlines are understanding of such a situation. I hope your friend's son is continuing to recuperate and get better.

She had much better luck calling the airlines than I did. In fact, it's probably better that she called to cancel the tickets, since it was her and her daughter who would not be able to make the journey. She said that she spoke to a very understanding employee, and they encouraged her to get a doctor's letter explaining the situation. Once I scanned the letter, and included it with the online refund application, the response and refund were taken care of much quicker than I thought they would be.

That was quick considering how slow this things usually are. Enjoy your solo trip. I know I will! We haven't been there during halloween decorations for a couple years, so I am happy to seem them again. And also enjoy the Railroad, River boats, and Fantasmic again.
