Our 2010 Town and Country has had one problem after another. It started with the win module failing over and over again. Our car wouldn't stay started and the electrical components would go dark. Then it was the GPS, radio and Navgation. Then it was our seats not moving or heating up. Then we had sparks coming out from under our seat. Now the brakes and rotors have been recalled and our window motor blew. We are only at 26,000 miles and Chryslers response is well we will continue to honor your warranty until 36,000 miles. Don't buy a Chrysler...you won't be able to drive your vehicle!

That is a very strange problem indeed.

We are on our second one and never have had a problem one. We absolutely love our town and country and so do the kids. Would buy another in a heart beat!

I know that is why I bought a T & C other people told us how much they loved theirs. There have actually been over 4 recalls on the 2010 all electrical.

Our T&C has over 100,000 miles and never had a problem. My husband is anal with doing maintenance though. Wow, sorry that has happened to you.

I don't think there is enough room on here for me to list all of the problems that I had with my 2009! It started the second day with the car just shutting down. Driving down the freeway - going 70 mph - lights would go off and car would just turn off! Chrysler's response: it didn't throw a code, so you/we can't prove it happened so nothing is wrong with it. TWO YEARS Of THIS! And front and back brakes replaced at 12,400 miles and they tried to make me pay for it! (after 12,000 miles, don't ya know!). Rear sliding door would open by itself - while driving --- or electrical (rear sliding) doors would not open. Had to replace 3 of four tires within first year. I could go on forever. BTW, this was my second T&C -- the first was so wonderful, I told everybody to get one. This one.........and the way we were treated...........We will never, ever, ever buy another Chrysler!

I had an 09 Dodge Grand Caravan (basically the same car) and my best friend had a 08. It was recall after recall, and she had problems with hers that were all electrical as well. Once I started creeping at 36k miles, I traded it in.
I've always driven Fords...that was my first Chrysler product...and will be my last. I now drive a 2011 Ford Flex.

is this coming from your dealership or chrysler?

Our passenger side sliding door broke. It was like 2 yrs old but I was over the mileage. Dealership said it was like $800 just for the parts. I was like no way. Went home called chrysler directly. End of story, it was fixed free of charge.

Do you have all the documentation of when and what needed fixed?
I would call Chrysler directly and complain.

This is just one reason why I would not buy a Chrysler product. Just too many lemons and general quality issues.
My Nissan Frontier(model year 2006) otoh has been nothing but good to me.Aside from a few fender benders my truck has not cost much at all. Just regular maintenance and a set of new tires.

Sorry to hear about your trouble though. People really depend on their vehicles and it really complicates things when this stuff happens.

Does your state have a lemon law? Check with consumer protection agencies. Sounds like you got the one that was being manufactured by the guys on the news that spent the lunch hour drinking and smoking pot.

I'm so over Chrysler. The damn one I have cost me twice what I paid for it in repairs that are never covered under the warranty. Never again!

I have been anal about maintenance everything going wrong is electrical nothing to do with maintenance.

Yes I have all of the documentation and I have called both Chrysler and the dealership. The response has been well it's not a lemon because you have to have the same problem over 4 times under 18,000 miles. I guess they don't lump electrical under one problem.
We will never, ever, ever buy another Chrysler!
Me either! There is a whole facebook page devoted to 2009-2010 Town and Country recalls/problems

Man, sounds like that T&C should be donated to Disney to use at the Haunted Mansion!

I guess all vehicles are prone to some weird problems. We bought a 2008 BMW 328i and all was great. I thought I had finally gotten a good vehicle, then it hit 49,000 miles and suddenly one day just went nuts. The overheat alarm suddenly came on and the car shut off about 10 seconds later. BMW said nothing was wrong when they hooked it, but sure enough a few weeks later it did the same thing. Then the doors would lock...with you still in it...and would not unlock. It spent the better part of 2 months at the dealer, and was eventually sent to some BMW expert. When it was all over, said, and done, we were told to keep the 2008 loaner that we were given to drive while repairs were being done to our car. I have no idea what they found, but it must have been severely bad. I seriously think this was done to adhere to the lemon law. I can feel your pain...

Right:lmao:
Sorry to hear about your trouble though.
Thank you

My sister had a 2010 for 8 months and got rid of it!! I almost bought one a few years ago... glad I went with the kia sedona, everyone laughed at me but 4 years and 70,000 miles later I have not had one mechanical issue other than a coolant line in the back rusting.

Your vehicle loses money the minute you leave the lot so we would have to roll that over into a new loan. Not exactly the optimal solution but we may have to. We were just in the shop 3 times in September and 2 times so far this month.

Where are you getting the information that the rotors and brakes have been recalled? I just paid to have new rotors put on our 2010 T&C.

Chrysler has offered to cover front brakes and rotors on certain T & C for a $100 deductible. Your dealer would have it listed under your VIN.

While what you said is true, I checked my car for trade in or resale and it came back between 80 to 90% of the original out the door price (used KBB, TTL included in original price, car is 2010 with 17.5K on it) depending on whether I did private sale or trade. Thus, as long as you financed it over five years or less, and as long as it is pristine condition-wise, I'd think you could get a reasonable deal out of it when trading for another new vehicle. :confused3 At least you'd know that your chances of having your vehicle work properly would be better! That's definitely worth something. :thumbsup2

I had an 08 T&C. I got a squealing (like a bunch of birds), in the right rear area. I took it in about 12 times to the dealer. No one could fix it. Then the brakes went with less than 10K miles. Then I had some electrical issues where the door (side slider) would not open with the internal button, but the remote would work. Again, it couldn't be fixed by the dealer. I finally had enough of the squealing, and weird issues, and traded that thing. I really did love it for all the nice features it had, but geez the issues just outweighed the nice things the van offered. My kids still miss the headphones...

Um... I don't think so our vehicle lost over 30% from out the door pricing. We would be rolling over $6000 into a new vehicle with vehicle incentives.
