I just had to say that "emergency" ponchos rock! Arrived at WDW two days before Hurricane Wilma. Sunday night (the night before the storm), the weather was very nice - warm, no breeze, just perfect. Went inside Maelstrom at Epcot. In the 15 minutes we were inside the building, the weather changed from "nice and pleasant" to "torrential downpour!" Luckily, I had tucked an emergency poncho into my fanny pack (the 79-cent Target kind). Those in our party who didn't have them had to buy the Disney ponchos (I think they cost about $7 each) - for larger families, that would really add up!
The emergency ponchos are great; they take up very little room, and would be easy to slip into a fanny pack, backpack, purse or even a pocket. Plus, they're virtually disposable! I had brought several, and was glad I didn't have to try to fold down the larger Disney poncho to re-use later. I just tossed my cheap one in the trash when I was done, and put another one in my fanny pack for the next day. I highly recommend them!
