I had my first mvmcp yesterday, and I rather enjoyed it. I started my day by going to my WDWCP graduation. Then it was off to the MK. I got my name sewn on my ears, then went to go watch DDCT. I was able to watch on the bridge! :cheer2: I was so excited. It was a really good view there. After that I went to go watch Woody's Coyboy Camp. I got picked as a volunteer for the riding course. I was the volunteer with the first hat closest to the wagon (the homestead, I believe). Man those hats are heavy. It would not be fun to wear them on a windy day. :teeth: And then I just walked around until I got my wristband. But around 5, everything went south-literally. It poured from about 5-7. I just hung out in Toontown while it rained. So this meant that I was there for the opening of the character rooms. I got a lot of characters. I got: Cinderella, Prince Charming, Aurora, Phillip, Snow White, Snow Prince, Belle, Beast, Alice, Queen of Hearts, Tweedles, Mickey, Minnie, Hook, Smee, Jessi, Bullseye, Aladdin, Jasmine, Mary Poppins, Bert, Mr. Penguin, the 4 Country Bears, Brer Bear, and Brer Fox. However, it started to rain- again. Luckily both parades went out. But that was the only outside stuff that did. All the outdoor shows were canceled (but I'm not sure about Twas though). The snacks were good. And there was no wait (or really long waits) for the rides. And for being sold out, it was not that crowded. So all in all, a good first mvmcp.

Glad your first MVMCP was a great experience for you- even with the rain. We loved our first MVMCP last year and cant wait for this year- we'll be there on the 19th!!

Congratulations, Joanna, on your WDWCP graduation. :smickey: Thanks for all you do. :thumbsup2

Congrats Johanna. We saw some other ears wandering around MGM last evening. I was so upset that it rained so hard last evening, all I could think of was the poor folks at MVMCP. Sounds like you made the best of it though!

We left MGM around 5:30ish and got soaked on the way to the car (which sort of misplaced even though I knew were we parked!) We did not see any characters after we entered MGM around 3:45. We headed to Mama Melrose for an early dinner and figured if they still had the late afternoon meet we would be out - but the rain came instead. It rained so hard it was difficult to drive home!

We will surely have to go back to Toontown for the Prince's and Bert on Monday evening. Are you working that night?

I am still sad that you are leaving us!

Same here -- we went to MK to watch the fireworks Dec 14 (6 p.m.)
I had to snap some photos as this was the FIRST time we watched fireworks in front of the castle and could see neither castle, nor fireworks! :dance3: The smoke stayed low and thick, as we even saw quite a bit of debree coming down.
City Hall had a long line of guests wanting refunds. (I have no idea what the policy is on that, or how it is handled.)
But mostly the rain seemed to stop by party start at 7 p.m. anyway.
Some may have liked it, if it helped thin out the crwods.
It just poured steady for a half hour or so.
Glad to hear you had a good time despite the soggy weather! :yay:

Glad to hear it stopped by party time. It continued to rain out here for a bit. I was really sad all evening. I know people look so forward to the parties and I hate to think their time is spoiled.!

Can't wait until Monday!

I was there that night with my family. By 7:00 we were all soaked. None of us wanted to stay. We decided to see if we could exchange our tickets for another night. I honestly didn't think that they'd let us do that. But they did. A CM cut off our wristbands and gave us tickets for the party on Monday night.

Good to read that. :sunny:
It was a steady drizzle. But that turned to harder rain, then poured at least a half hour or more.
It was one of those times where some were wearing ponchos, had an umbrella, and still soaked up into their upper legs.
At least it was not cold.
But I had on shoes and felt like I was squishing in my shoes for quite awhile. Just enough rain to make one feel uncomfortable.

:thumbsup2 that's great! Maybe we will pass in the crowd!

Here are my glorious photos of last night looking directly into the castle, about 1/3 of the way between Casey's and the castle.

Don't think you can't see anything because it was dark and the flash did not go far enough out. This was what we could see. Smoke, rain and people. :rotfl2:
Magical fireworks and castle during the rain. That's what I call these special photos. :lmao:
Only the diehards were there (including us)! :rotfl:

Joanna, congrats on graduation! Did Jen graduate too? How exciting for you!!!! Glad you got to see so many characters, although I'm pretty partial to Pocahontas and Jasmine these days. Oh, and Prince Philip and Prince Eric are mighty sweet too!

Aw, that is nice. Thank you. :goodvibes Yes I will be working all 4 parties next week. And triplefigs, I am not sure if she went to graduation, but I have a picture you may like. I will be downloading them tomorrow (or later today, actually).

Thanks for the picture, Joanna. Ask her to see the Christmas card I mailed. It's a cute picture of the triplefigs! Congrats again!

Here are some pictures (all with characters):

If I'd known you were taking a picture of me I would've turned around and smiled. :teeth: I'm the diehard in the light blue slicker with the giant golf umbrella.

It really was miserable out there, wasn't it? And it seemed to be worst during both fireworks shows too. At least it wasn't too bad for the early parade.

And to answer Joanna, "Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas" was not stopped by a little deluge of rain.

I was also at the party on the 14th. It started pouring just as we entered Main Street. Luckily we had adr's for The Plaza and by the time we finished eating and walked to Buzz Lightyear, the rain stopped. It lightly sprinkled a couple of times throughout the evening, but really the rain cooperated and stopped in time to not ruin the party. We saw the first Twas the Night Before Christmas and the start was delayed about 20 minutes or so. By the end of the party I was starting to feel pretty damp, but we all agreed that we were very lucky and it could have been a whole lot worse!! By the way it was coming down when we arrived, I really did not think it would stop raining.

Those are all wonderful pics, Joanne.

BTW, I've been wondering...

Did you ever get any pics with Clarabelle & Horace or the 3 Caballeros when they started coming out regularly during your time at WDW?

If so, could you please post them?

I have gotten pictures with Donald and Jose. I will be getting pictures with Panchito, Clarabelle, and Horace hopefully before I leave.

I was planning on going to the 12/14 party, too. However, when I went to the concierge desk at Pop that AM, she informed me that it was sold out!!! I was not a happy camper. However, it worked out for the best. I was at MK during the day and was riding Pirates when a big rain hit I think around 3??? I went back to Pop for a little while (headed back right after 4 PM) and then headed over to Epcot. It was still drizzing some. I got in the standby line for CP at 7:45, and the line was really short! I was standing where the Espresso kiosk is right past where the fence in front of Liberty Inn turns towards backstage. If I had to guess I'd say the line was maybe 50-60 people long. They started letting in the standby people about 8:05, and I got a great seat, only 2 rows behind the roped off part for package people. I had a good seat right on the end toward the center, but I had to slide down to fit a latecomer, so all my pics will have a tree on the right side. Great show!!

My original plan was to do standby for the Fri CP. The line for that was crazy, so I'm glad I didn't have to do that! At 4 PM, the standby line was past that special seating area in Italy, and they have the ropes weaving back and forth in that area, it's not just one straight line. On the package side, at 4 PM, the line stretched past Morocco!!! The package line where you have a guaranteed seat!
