We, DH DD (2-on Halloween-reason for this quick trip) and I, headed up to Disney for a trip to MNSSHP....we arrived on 10/27 and checked in to the All Star Movies Resort.....we then headed over to DTD for some shopping and some (ok, lots) eating.
We started our journey around DTD at about 7pm...there weren't that many people as we walked through PI and then through DTD....after lots of shopping we went over to RFC and put our name in....we had about a 40 minute wait. Finally it was our turn and we were escorted, more like herded, to the elephant waiting line. We were then taken to the elephant room. We were seated at a table for two even though we were a party of three. Instead of getting a high chair, we just left DD in the stroller. Our waiter came over promptly and I ordered a Sprite and DH ordered one of those specialty drinks - you know the $12.99, take home a souvenier glass ones...and DD got milk. We started with the crab dip appetizer which was awesome!! It was served with chips and we had plenty of those left with not a trace of dip to spare.
DH had a salad, which is not included with any meals but an additional $3.99....it was your typical salad, nothing worth the price and for dinner he had the FULL rack of ribs, which he thought were excellent. They tried to bring the ribs before the salad....everything worked out eventually. He could not finish everything as it was around 10:00 at night and I think his eyes were bigger than his stomach.
I had the crab cakes, which were excellent....hardly any stuffing and lots of crabmeat....I could only eat one. They came with veggies and rice....I thought the veggies were good but the rice could use some work.
We ordered DD the kids shrimp meal...considering most Disney kid's meals (I know this isn't a Disney restaurant) are a set price and include the drink - this is where RFC gets you.....the meal was $6.99, $$extra if you wanted fries instead of chips and the drink is $1.99 extra...DD was asleep before it got to our table. She sampled it later that evening when we got back to the room....
We spent $100+ for the meal (don't have the receipt in front of me) and while I am glad we "did it" I doubt we will be back there. The atmosphere is FUN but incredibly loud. We were right next to the elephants who kept going off....to get a coke, it was $2.29, which I thought was high for a soft drink with your meal...so overall, it was a fun place to try but I highly doubt we will be back.
Any questions??
