If you haven't read part one to my little jaunt through the attractions area of Orlando, read it now so you can follow along. Well...you don't really have to read part one. Just do so to make me happy! :)

Saturday (3/3)

Yesterday, we went to IOA, Epcot and DTD. Today, I would be going to just WDW, but we would carry a friend of mine along the ride. I met Craig a few weeks ago. He is in the exact same major I'm in (Digital Media) and some of the stuff he did in High School to me is just mind blowing! I wish my HS had the equipment he had. :( Well at least I'm at UCF and hope to get some hands on training with all that computer stuff.

Anyway, I woke up rawther (Got that from reading "Eloise", LOL!) early, about 7:00 am or so. This is considered "late" for me when I head to the parks on the weekend. Before I got my car, I had to get up at 5:45 am to catch a 6 am something bus to the D.O. (Downtown Orlando) and then catch another bus to WDW in time for park opening. Craig calls me up on my celly to meet with him. He hasn't come to my dorm yet, so he really doesn't know exactly where I'm at. So we decide to meet up at the reflection pond. I have some pictures of it and it look so cool! Enough of that, lets get to the chase.

After picking up Craig, me and my brother go off. This time, our fantasic journey would include music provided by the millenium celebration CD! I haven't spinned it in a while, so I decided to pop that in. This must be owned by every WDW fan as Craig owns it as well! He also knows like every word to the songs! I still didn't like the "Celebrate the Future hand in hand" gospel version. I liked the one on the 2000 official album. I really tried to be neutral in music selection since I lean towards hip-hop and R&B, but I just couldn't help myself play Mystikal's song "Danger" crusing around DTD!

We arrived at Animal Kingdom around 9 ish. I takes too long to get to this park in the middle of nowhere. No wonder why I don't go to it often. The other 3 parks are all within a 3-5 mile radius of each other. Maybe it's right now a "half day" park. That "half day" might be because it closes too darn early! Since Craig is a big Lion King fan, we saw the festival of TLK first. It has the feel of the broadway version I hear about often. Liked it, especially at the end when Timon tells us to "leave". I won't spoil it for you but...you'll have to find out yourself. Shortly after, we all decided to get a picture with Mickey and Minnie. It seems routine now for me to do this so I won't go into much detail. In case if you wanted to know, I did kiss Minnie by her hand...er glove and she appreciated it very much, perhaps blushing because of my affection! :)

Just like me, Craig has the "knowledge". Since we usually read the same websites, we exchanged information on what's coming up. He also pointed me out where the proposed "Beastly Kingdom" was supposed to be originally placed in (Camp Minnie-Mickey). He pointed out where the dragon would be and all that good stuff. I really want to sock Paul Pressler in his bean counting head now more than ever! Of course I'm only joking, but still mad at his way of running the parks.

We did the usual E-tickets like KS and Dinosaur. Craig insists that it be called only "Countdown to Exstinction", its original name before Disney wanted synergy. Kali River Rapids is a big no-no for me. It's been well documented by eariler posts that I don't enjoy getting wet!. I rode that ride in December and I was none too pleased with the...results! I really want to ride Grizzly River Run when I go to DCA this summer, but I will be prepared. The spinning drop they have on GRR attracts me.

The high cost of food here does not fare well with college students, so me and Justin decided to drive out and go eat somewhere. I also wanted to check out that character wharehouse that many people mentioned here. Since Craig wanted to check out Mission: Space Construction, we would meet him up at MGM since we were there yesterday.

1pm. We headed on our way to the Belz outlet, where the character wherehouse is located. In case if you were wondering where it was, it is on international drive, not far from Universal Orlando. It took a half-hour just to find the place. There are actually two locations in the outlet, but we only went to one. It's in "Mall 2", just follow the signs (if you can). Let me tell you, this is paradise for WDW fans! Cheap merchandise galore! They had lots of 2000 stuff deeply discounted. For example, the hand in hand shirts they were just hawking early last month for 19.00 - now 5.99! They have STACKS of the millenium CD for sale at $10.00, plus a few 2000 nick-knacks left. Sorcerer Mickey sweatshirts were $10.00 and polos were $12. I got myself a red 2000 hand in hand shirt, a long sleeve Eeyore shirt, the 2000 official album and a little Mickey snowglobe all for around $30! I may never shop in the resort again with these prices!

We leave the outlet to find a place to eat. I go to Wendy's, and fill up the tank. (The cost of gas is very high around the attractions!). Justin wanted (yuck!) McD's again, so we drove off there. Since I didn't want to leave Craig hanging, I started to hurry myself walking in the parking lot. My brother couldn't catch up. In the midist of the horrible Mulan parade, we met up with him. The tour groups once again were out in force, gathering up at the entrance in large numbers. I kind of acted snobbishly joking "I should be let in first since I'm an AP holder!".

We were really unsure of what to do here since we've done a lot. I wanted to do ToT and RNRC, but Craig had some fear of doing ToT and RNRC had a too long wait. What did we go on? The backstage tour. This time, it was more of a neat thing since we got to see the set for the "Who wants to be a Millionare-Play it!" attraction. The set is the exact same thing as the one in New York - only bigger to accomodate 600 people. The tour guide says that Regis is supposed to do some shows here for two weeks out of the year. It will open on April 7th. That thing should have been made a year ago as interest for the show is wanning and Disney knows it!

After that, we did MuppetVision 3D. As always, this is an attraction that I enjoy seeing again and again. I wish the other 3D movies had that type of appeal. Before seeing Fantasmic!, we all deicde to - gasp! - eat in the park! Shortly after finishing eating, my brother finds a long lost friend ready to go home. He recoginzies him from his first job in a multiplex. He said that he was doing the college program 'til may. I guess ANY ONE can get into this program now! Let's cross my fingers that I get in one day. I won't try until I can get my grades up to a level that is confident.

We got in the amplithearter for Fantasmic! at around 6:00p for a 7:00p show. I won't go into detail for that. Since we heard that in the MK they were giving out free Lithographs to Annual Passholders, we all decided to head over there and then Epcot for the fireworks. If I weren't clumsy with my pass, then we would have made it to the 'cot. I lost my pass somehow getting my lithograph! Luckily, I we found it and I got a replacement at the same time. If someone were to attempt using that pass, it could have been revoked! Thank goodness that didn't occur. Instead, we only did TTC and watched the electrcal parade. It was a little hard to find my car since I forgot where I parked it. Eventually we found it and went home.

Now, with my Spring Break coming, it looks like I might be gong there at least once next week (week of 3/11). Look for another report, but I hope it won't be as long as this!

I love the character warehouse too. I hated paying the high prices for mickey merchandise but wanted it enough to spend the dough anyway. Now I still spend the dough but I gotta lot more to show for it!!!!

Quentin, Thanks for the greats report. :)

This was fun to read. Good thing you got your pass replaced and it didn't get revoked. Thanks for posting this.
