My taxes are Done!! - UH OH Update

Just finished filing, have a pretty large refund coming so I was in a hurry. It's nice to be done!

Ours are in the mail today. Refund from Federal at NJ State, but owe NY state.

I have one tax document that has not shown up yet... expect it in the mail today. Once that is here... I will get it done... as I too am getting a refund... don't want it to languish!

If you used Tax software, what kind did you use and did you have any problems with it?

I used Turbo-Tax and filed electronically. There have been reports of problems with Turbo-Taxes copy protections but I had already loaded it before I found out about that so it was too late to worry about it. I've used it in years past and not had any problems and since it imports from the last year it just is easier not to change software. I think either Turbo-Tax or Tax-cut are about the same in ease of use and Tax-Cut is usually a little cheaper.

I haven't done a paper copy of taxes for awhile, I can't imagine doing the regular form now

I did mine online at Turbotax.com. Mine friend has been doing it at Turbotax.com for the past 2 years and is coming over today to do them again.

disneychrista - how many business days did the refund take? Seems like they come a little quicker if you get it in fast but I'm counting on having it in about 10 days. Hope I do

I'm in the same boat as you Janette. Large refund, ready to file (my CPA brother has the documents and we'll get them tomorrow).

I Did mine on Thursday, and my refund comes on Feb. 14! What a NICE valentine's gift!

Got the last of the documents yesterday and finished the returns on TurboTax last night. Electronic filing was easy and fast. Large refund due from Feds, small owed to NH (yes, we have a tax on interest and dividends). Message said refund on/about 2/14.

It's good to have it done and over with for another year.

I got my state refund in one week, federal in two.

We owe after paying quarterly taxes, so even though we got them done, I won't be sending checks out until April 15!
That self employment tax has to be the worst.

I received a 1099-r today for something that I forgot about, thought it was done last year. It would only make a little difference in the taxes but now I have to refile or something. It's times like these I really appreciate my sis that has a PHD in accounting and teaches tax. Help is only a phone call away...
