* My "SURPRISE" Anniversary trip, Hubby Planned it All * Photopass & Video w/ Music*

I agree with you. I think kids should go multiple times in their life because they will want to experience different things at their different ages. January is a great time to go. The crowds were low and the weather was really nice. It got a little cool (sometimes cold) in the evening but nothing bad. When you go with you family, will you have enough people to have a Grand Gathering?

Probably not because I think kids have to be over 3 to be counted as the grand gathering. It will be me and DH and Caleb when he should be about 2.5, my mom and dad and my brother, SIL and newphew who will be about 4.5. So 7 and Caleb. My parents are paying because they want to take the boys there and want to do it before my newphew starts school. We always went in Jan when we were kids (except for one time when it was April because I marched in the Disney Music days parade---3pm parade at MK when I was a senior and my family stayed also and after the band left then we had the rest of our vacation there---but it was HOT then!) I soo cant wait to take Caleb for the first time and it is killing me to wait til then but I want him to be a little older when we go...you would think that since the last time I was there was Sept 07 that I could be a little patient...but I'm not!:upsidedow
I'm wanting to do planning now but I was told that I really couldn;t even book until summer 2010, but it will give me plenty of time to add and delete things I want to do.:rotfl2:

I wanted to add that DH and I ate at Yachtsman on our Sept 07 trip. DH is a real steak lover but we were not impressed with our meal. It was good but not Le Cellier (best meal of our trip!) We wore dressy casual but we did see some nicely dressed people and some people not so nicely dressed. I get that you are at Disney world but you know it is a nicer more expensive type of resturant, so at least put some thought into your wardrobe. Just some people did not think. I think what you wore was great for Yachtsman.

Sorry you didn't like Yachtsman. We really liked it. Though our all time favorite restaurant from this trip is Narcoosee's. It was so romantic and the food was great. More on that later.

The desserts were so good. I was just usually way too full to really enjoy them. BTW, how's your son's arm? Did I read on FB that he has to have a metal plate?

Yes his arm hasnt mended, so he has to have a metal plate fitted in the next couple of weeks and still no sports,he is a bit fed up we cant believe it hasnt healed in six months :guilty:

OK Ladies and Gentlemen: I'm going to try to get an update in. I'm heading out to the movies this evening and I don't want to keep you hanging on any longer. :rotfl:

:cheer2: Epcot and my First Surprise :cheer2:

When I last left you we had just finished a wonderful meal at the Yachtsman Steakshouse. I was so full I was alost miserable. We decided to walk back to the International Gateway instead of taking the boat. The Boardwalk looks so pretty at night.

We made it back to our locker and changed back into our comfy clothes. Illuminations was just ending so we stopped to watch the rest of it then made our way to Finding Nemo. I know alot of people don't care for this ride, but I do. :thumbsup2 We saw a few Photopass photographers out so we stopped to have some pictures taken with the ball all lit up. I'm in a Photopass share so I don't have my CD yet. I'll post those pictures as soon as I get it.

Then I had to head into Mousegears to do a little shopping. It was a zoo in there, so I decided to wait and shop at Downtown Disney. I've never ridden Spaceship Earth. )The line is always soooo long) Since it was basically a walk-on we decided to ride. At the end, we got a glimpse into our future.

By this point we were so tired. We had gotten up at 3:00am to head to the airport that morning. So we decided to head back to the lodge. When we arrived at our door to our room, DH let me open the door. I didn't really think anything about this, as I usually open it. Well, I couldn't believe it. When I opened the door I saw...........

I was SHOCKED!!!! Who knew he even knew Disney florist existed. Evidentally he has been lurking on the Disboards to find this info out. They were so beautiful. Instead of a dozen, there was 13. He said it was called a Disney dozen. One of the roses was a little taller than the others and had alot of glitter on it. He said that was called the "Wishing Rose" and you were suposed to make a wish on it. AAWWWWW!!!!!
102_0138.jpg

There was also a Mickey shaped note in the flowers.
102_0137.jpg

It basically said there was a "hidden Mickey" in the flowers somewhere. Well, you know I had to find that thing immediately. :cheer2: I found it. :cheer2:

:) Real Life Update::)
My husband asked me not to throw the roses away. (You should have seen me carrying them home on the plane :lmao: ). I knew I would love to save them but I've never had alot of luck with pressing flowers. Well, he had an idea of what to do with the. We go to Gatlinburg about once a year and he remembered seeing a place there that will take your roses and turn them into jewelry. Somehow they cook them and turn them into hard beads then you tell them what kind of jewlery you want them made into. I talked to someone at the store today and I just need to have them dryed before I send them. They said it may take about 2 months to get the finished product back to me. This is a great way to remember the memories of our trip.

Coming up next: Toy Story Mania.....He thinks he can beat me!!!:rotfl:

Those flowers are so awesome and I love the idea of making jewelry out of them. He has done a really good job with this all!!!:thumbsup2

Those flowers are so beautiful...so nice of him to do that :) And the hidden Mickey is pretty cool too.

I just found your report and I have to say -Wow, I am so impressed! Not only did your husband plan an amazing trip, but he did research on how to preserve flowers!!!!! I'd be happy if mine even called the babysitter by himself! I am so jealous (but in a nice way). Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.:)

I have heard of husbands like yours before. Treasure him!

Just jumped on board today. Read your whole report this afternoon. The adult only weekend hooked me as I'm going to WDW with Dh (and leaving my three kidlets with Grandparents) for a weekend to celebrate my birthday. Maybe I'll leave some assorted disney surprise info spread around the house and see if he bites?

Awww!!! How sweet! That is really cool that you can make jewelry out of them! Can't wait to read more.

Teh flowers were beautiful and have lasted a really long time......much longer than I usually have roses last. He really did his homework. :) BTW, I love the picture in your siggie. Your kids are adorable.

Those flowers are so beautiful...so nice of him to do that :) And the hidden Mickey is pretty cool too.
At first I just thought the Mickey note said something like have a "good time, Mickey and Minnie left these for you". It was a little bit later that I actually read the note. I felt a little silly then. :rotfl: And I was on a mission to find that Mickey.

Congratulations on your adult only weekend! :cheer2: Are you going to Disney? Have you started a PTR? If so, I'll have to check it out. :)

How sweet!!! I'm signing on to your TR!!!
Thanks for joining.:flower3:

The jewelry looks really neat when they it's finished. The beads are always black, though. Who knew? :confused3

I went with a friend last night to see Bride Wars and it was really funny. If you get the chance to go see it, I recommend it. It's definately a movie that's more fun to watch with a friend.....not really a date movie.

I thought some of you might want to see the website for the jewelry. I meant to post it in my last post, but I guess I forgot. :confused3 So here it is:

I wished I'd have know about this jewelry thing a long time ago. I would have loved to have used the flowers from so many memorable occasions. I'm pretty sure I read on their website you can use rose petals also.
Great update! Hope you enjoyed your movie!
