My strategy for bedtime!

OK, whenver I take DD3 and DS6 to a hotel, bedtime is always difficult. I usually just have to turn off all the lights and TV in the hotel until they go to sleep, then I get up and turn the tv back on or read until I go to sleep ( If I don't fall asleep along with them). I am taking them to DW in June on my own ( because my *ss huband left me for a little girl).

Well, my plan is to put them to bed, turn off the lights and TV, and go take a bubble bath while they fall asleep! ( I am not a germophobe) Then I can get out and watch TV as much as I feel like. This worked on a little trip we took a few months ago and I think it will be great at DW. I get to relax and unwind, they can fall asleep, and we are all happy. What do you think? Does anyone else do this?

As long as yo are quite sure they can not open the door to go outside or onto the patio that might be a great idea. You could also keep the door cracked to keep an ear out for them. Another idea is a book light that you can read by or sit on your patio or balcany if you have one with your curtain open to keep an eye on them. Chances are they will be so tired they will be asleep in no time!!!

Prayers for a wonderful trip!

I think that would work just fine. Your kids are going to be so tired, they won't have trouble going to sleep. We have more trouble getting ours up!

Sounds like a plan. Honestly- when I have to share a room with the kids, by the time I get them settled and brush my own teeth etc I am ready to crash with them! We had one trip DH and I both went to sleep by 8:30 all 4 nights in a row!

That has always worked with my kid. People with lighter sleepers could also invest $10-$20 in an itty bitty book light to reduce the possibility of disturbing the kiddos.

I'm with you. I think I can count on one hand the number of times I have stayed awake long enough to get to the point where I could turn the tv back on! Disney is tiring for everyone!
