A few months ago there were alot of SSR bashing threads and I made the comment I would reserve judgement till I stayed there. I returned from there 4 hrs ago so my report will be brief but I will do a full report after I get some sleep :thumbsup2

When we arrived it was @ 11am. I went to the check in counter and immediately got a Welcome Home. Yes I got a warm fuzzy feeling hearing those magical words. My requsts upon making this reservatin were non smoking, pool view, and The Springs Section.

I was asked if I wanted a pool view or garden view. I looked and saw the section I was being put in was The Paddocks so I asked for a room close to the bus stop. We were in the Paddocks 4612. it was a view of the parking lot but a 2 min walk to the bus stop :thumbsup2

When we arrived in the room I noticed we had a bunny made out of a face cloth. The kids thought that was cool. I did a quick look around and the room was in order. No messes , No bugs just clean.

The resort itself is huge but beautiful.

The bus service seemed slow but timing it they were there every 22 min except 1 day at AK it was like a 40 min wait. We saw 2 of every other resort buses before ours came. We did manage to catch 1 or 2 as soon as we walked out.

The main pool does seem small and I did meet a few people from this board.

All in ALL I have no complaints what so ever

This was smart to be your own judge and it appears to have served you well.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your trip. :)

We're heading there in less than a month, so I'll be watching for your more detailed report after you rest up! Glad you had a nice trip!

We'd like to hear more. I've heard SSR is Disney's best work to date. Biggest rooms, best decor, best location and the best theme. My guide also stated that AP is the finest dining venue at a DVC Resort to date. Looking forward to the rest. Glad you got off to such a great start.

SSR is certainly a great resort, but I think you could get a "discussion" about any of the "biggest, best or finest" points above!

And Artist Point isn't really at a DVC resort. Oh, you meant something else? :teeth:

Ok I am back :)

After checking out the room we went to downtown Disney. We went out of our room. Down the stairs and to thebus stop. This wait seemed to be F O R E V E R but it was only 18 min :). We were really hungry so that made it seem that much longer.

We grabbed a sandwich at the Earl of Sandwich. Enjoyed it very much. Not sure if it was the food or just happy we got to eat...lol

After wandering around DTD we went back to the room and went swimming in the quiet pool near our room. It was about a 2-3 min walk to it.

that night we headed to Chef Mickeys for my youngest daughters Bday. Food was excellant and she had "the best birthday I ever had" We watched a front move in and boy did it rain.

When it stopped we went to MK via the monorail. We went on a few rides ...watched the parade and headed back to SSR.

Next morning off to Epcot. Went on the rides we wanted ...had fish and chips in England for lunch and then back to SSr to swim.

Le Cellier for dinner. What a great dinner. The prime rib was awesome and the maple creme brulle was the best I ever had. Rode TT and Soarin again then back to SSR for swimming :)

Sunday we went to AK. We did the rides we wanted and EE was great. Lunch at flame tree a few more rides and then back to SSR to go swimming.

We had dinner at 1900 park Fare. Here we had a surprise. At check in they asked if we wanted a cake to celebrate DD B-Day. We explained it was on Fri at Chef Mickey's and they explained it was the whole weekend..lol so we got a cake. $12.95 and boy it was good. Chocolate...need I say more

the food was great and the characters were always around.

We went back to SSR swimming after looking around GF for a bit.

Monday we checked out. headed to MK. Rode our favorite rides for a while and headed back to SSR. Grabbed our suits and swam all day.
Then it was time to leave. :(

The kids enjoyed the whole resort and the wife enjoyed the main pool. I enjoyed the beauty of the resort.

All in all it was a great trip.

Thanks for the report Tom. Our first trip Home from New Hampshire to SSR will be in December and our second in March.

Thanks for the great report. I really can't wait to stay at SSR in Sept. for the first time.

Glad you all had a terrific vacation!

Thanks for the report. It sounds like you had a great vacation. :)

I'm glad you had a good trip home to SSR - it's our home resort, too, and so far the only one we've stayed at (we've only been once since being DVC members). We stayed in the Paddocks, about two buildings down.
