For the third week in a row my flight from MKE to TPA on 4/5 has gone down....each time either on Monday night or Tuesday morning and then right back up again later in the day. I've saved over $60 total in the last 3 weeks! Yay for me! It is definitely worth the time to check!

I wonder if certain markets fluctuate more. Out of Denver ours have remained unchanged since I booked a couple of months ago. Glad it works out for many and I'll keep checking periodically :)

good for you!!!

Our flights are down this morning too. If I change the flight on the website will I lose my EBCI? I will be changing nothing really...same flights....just changing to the new fare.
ETA: From what I read on their site, I think I'm good to go since I changed and kept the same confirmation # and I just got my family a $240 credit!! Woohoo! :yay: I love the disboards!

Nice job!!!

One of the many reasons I love SW. The ease of "getting your money back" if the flight prices change.

Hoping my August flights do the same overtime. From what we typically pay for those flights, we should see about $160 or so in adjustments.

I booked our trip (GRR-TPA & MCO-FNT) several months ago. I didn't quite get them on the day they were released, but I have been checking the prices almost every day. So far, the GRR-TPA leg has not budged by even $1 either way...$115 since day 1. The MCO-FNT has been all over the place but the $119 that I paid is the lowest it's been. I used points for the GRR-TPA leg so that is the one I would most like to see go down. I paid cash for the MCO-FNT leg but if we get a credit, it will most likely remain unused since we do not have another trip planned this year.

We don't have another trip planned either, but we do have a new grandbaby due this summer. Maybe we can make a trip to see him or her now that we have some credit.

If you find that your fare has dropped, how do you get your flight changed to the lower fare?

Just remember that the credits have to be used a year from the original booking, and each credit will be separate and for the specific individual, and that there is a limit to the number of credits you can use on a future booking.

I always thought once you book a flight, the sale is final. You can get price drops?

On Southwest, if you book and the price goes down, you can re-book and get a credit for the difference. As stated above, you must use the credit by 1 year from the original booking date and it must be in your name. If you book with points on SW and the fare goes down, you get a refund of the points immediately back into your account if you rebook....it's great!

This is a perk with SWA because they Do Not charge a *Change Fee*

With other Airlines you can change a flight ... but the *Change Fee* can be as High as $200.00.

I am aware of those requirements. For this particular trip I did use points to book, so I'm saving more on points. I wanted to let people know that prices have been consistently dropping for me and hoped that others would benefit from my experience.

The flight that keeps going down for me is the leg I booked with points. I paid cash for the return flight and that has only skyrocketed!
