I've been home for a few weeks now, after going down over April school vacation with my middle son (17), to visit my oldest son Pat (21), who just finished the spring semester as a CM at the Great Movie Ride! And what a ride it was. He truly had the time of his life.:cloud9:

We had an amazing week with him. And the highlight was the day we got to see him do his "show":wizard:. Oh, was I ever a proud Mom. We got to spend about 4 full park days with him, and had a blast. The free days weren't too shabby either, nice perk:thumbsup2.

If any parents out there are hesitating whether your son/daughter should do a semester there, hesitate no further. It truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity. He made some fantastic friends (not to mention a wonderful girlfriend, who he met on the ride:lovestruc), and just be at Disney for four full months, going in and out of the parks all the time! He LOVED it, every minute of it. Anyway, here's a picture of Pat! He's home now, and misses it so much!!

Thanks for sharing. What an awesome photo of him. I'm glad that he enjoyed the experience. What a great opportunity.:thumbsup2

I'm glad your DS Pat had a great experience!
Great photo!
I love The Movie Ride!
Thanks for sharing! :)

Great picture!! Is he going to do the program again? My daughter loved the CP.

OH how great!!!

So glad it was a positive experience for him. What field of study is he striving for? I am curious as I'd LOVE for my own ds to intern there as well..........what an experience......
Best of luck to your son/s!

Shoot I was hoping to meet him in July. I didn't realize he was done already. He looks so happy. That's a great Photo! Thanks for sharing.

I remember you posting that he was heading to the program and now he is done.. WOW that was fast. Glad it was such a great experience for him

Thanks for the update. My dd is dying to do the college program when she gets to college. Nice to hear such good things from the parents point of view.

I'm also curious as to what your son's college major is. My DS19 is as much as Disney nut as I am, and I'd love for him to do the college program. His major is elec. engineering - do you know if the CP kids get to work behind the scenes? DS is kind of shy, so I can't see him doing something like your DS.

Thx bunches for sharing the pic of your handsome DS, Pat. Sounds like quite an experience and wonderful opportunity!! :thumbsup2

Aw, thanks everyone! Pat's major is Communications, he's doing an internship at a tv studio this Summer, as he wants to be that reporter out on the street that you see on the news. He's also got a full time job at a Boston hotel, so he's got a pretty full plate right now. He does not have plans to return to the CP program, but says he would do one of Disneys professional internship in a heartbeat. The tv studio he's at this summer is a Disney affiliate too!

thanks for sharing that, my dd21 applied for the cp but got the dreaded rejection letter, but shes a trouper and going to apply again for the spring..she apsolutely loves the great movie ride. good luck to your son,(i think i may have seen him once the last time we were there, but he wasnt our guide to the movies) :)

Oh that's too bad, yes she should definitely try again, so worth it! When did she apply, I heard lots of kids got rejected? Good luck to her, she'll make it there when the time is right!:thumbsup2

Wow he got to stay in Disney AND met a new girlfriend!! That's a win win for sure.

Did Pat live at Vista Way? my daughter is checking in August 12th and isn't sure where she wants to stay. Have heard good and bad about Vista Way

Looks like he was enjoying himself! Too bad it has to end ...did he get to keep his name tag?

He lived in Chatham, loved that location.

He sure did! He ended up with two. Turns out he wanted one with his hometown on it too. It's the BEST souvenir ever.:wizard:

What a wonderful experience for him. Thanks for sharing. It makes me wish I was in college again. Maybe my 9 yo DD will do it when it's her turn!
