computers! DS is 11 years old. For three months now I have been using a laptop since we moved. :earseek: Talk about going blind. LOL! Tonight DS hooked up everything for my desktop!! :earseek: :faint: I'm now using it!! :teeth: A few days ago I figured now would be a good time to replace the monitor since the one I had was 7 years old, giving me doubles of things when I signed on, etc. It didn't owe me anything. Wow! Colors have changed! LOL!

So...I'll have to encourage DS to head into computers. He says it's easy!! :teeth: Glad I didn't have to hire someone to come in and hook it all up. Tomorrow DS will be going shopping since he did me a huge favor and saved me a LOT of money! ;)

Yes, my 9 year old can do the same thing. He scares me sometimes what he can do.

Its not that hard to do, just basically follow wires and plug in.

I've started having my 10yo DD install hardware for me :p much easier than trying to figure out the directions.

True. What gets me is that there are soooooooooooooo many less wires hooked up than what was previously hooked up. What the heck did the tech guy do?? :earseek: DS hooked up the monitor, mouse, keyboard, and printer. Done!! The computer guy that hooked it up in FL back when I bought it had a BUNDLE of wires back there! I do have a box with cables and wires still in it. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...wonder what they're for. Possibly the previous speakers. This screen has built in speakers...although it's way too quiet and I'll never hear it from down stairs.

I think you need to buy your ds his own computer to get him started in his career path, Sandy.::yes:::p

Oh, he's asked about that! Since I have my computer back, he wants to know if he can have the laptop in his room. :scratchin

I need to hire your son. I can barely post a smilie. I hate it when the computer acts up. I'm in big trouble!!

He sounds like he's working on his negotiating skills too.

Whenever I see a person with a computer problem I tell them to find a kid!

Sandy, I'm with you. My son is also 11 and a WHIZ. I figure since they grew up with them they know them like we know the telephone!

Hi Sandy!:wave2:

I'd like to borrow Richard for a few minutes if you don't mind. Even between dh and I, we still can't get our VCR's clock to stop flashing 12:00!

Hugs to you!:)

Okay...let me ask him what his price is. Must be less than the techies. ;)

I agree, Cindy...very scary!! DS doesn't let on anything unless I specifically ask him something. Must be a typical male characteristic.

Hi, Kim! :wave2:

Hmmm...I don't know if he knows about that one yet. But he can hook up the VCR for you! :teeth: He did that for me the night before the computer. The little stinker!!! We've been in our new home three months now. All this time I've been asking him to hook up the VCR. (Now, why is it that I had no problem hooking it up myself in FL but have a problem now????? ) He has told me that he tried hooking it up but can't get it to work...wires must be in the wrong place. Well, one day recently it dawned on me that he had NO problem hooking up PS2 and Game Cube to it!! I know there are plug in thingies in the front and one set in the back. The lightbulb FINALLY went on!!! All his stuff is hooked up to the TV and he doesn't want the VCR hooked up!! BINGO!! I made him unplug the Game Cube from the back. I now have a working VCR/DVD player!!! :Pinkbounc He had to move the wires around a bit to find the right places to plug them in, but it now works!!! LOLOLOLOL! He'll just have to have the inconvenience of switching the two systems of his on the front.

Now...the clock! Still doesn't have the time on it, just dashes. ;)
