he wants to scope out our attic to see if he can put "extra space" for him up there.
I then pointed out we have a perfectly good basement he could use. His response.."Can we build walls??"
He was serious! I know he has seen finished basemants before. He wanted to put electric in our attic. We have lived here 7 years and I have NEVER been in the attic!! The access door is in the hall and it is perfectly happy staying shut. 
I pointed out it would be easier to put a room downstairs then somewhere with limited access. Maybe this will get him to clean out his old things (baby toys and such that he just couldn't get rid of) If he cleans, the walls will come!

I'm not sure our attic is suitable, but then again I have never been up there. He wants to put an entrance in it to his room. I am sure that although it would be really kewl, it would be way more expensive then doing the basemant. I just think there are some really big yocky bugs up there...spiders, bees and the like. Probably not, but I am afraid to find out
