My Son and The Illinois Governor..... Pics Incl'd!!!

I may be a Republican - but I still thought this was pretty darn cool.

We were at the 4th Parade - and all the people started cheering and standing up and I see security men running down the street and I look...it's Rod Blagojevich - Governor of Illinois. He's kind of a doofus (see link: http://cbs2chicago.com/politics/local_story_054135102.html) BUT he was awfully close, so I whipped out my camera. I have no pics of anyone famous....why not?

He spotted the camera and not one to miss a potential vote - stopped his running down the street, waving and I got this pic:

There's my son - with the Governor of Illinois. Kinda cool.

I'm still voting Republican though. Although - his doofus level has dropped slightly in my book.

ETA : To try and tell Danny how *cool* this was, I used an example - I said he's like the President of Illinois....look how important Arnold Schwarzenegger is - he's the Gov. of California!"

He said - "Yeah - too bad Arnold wasnt our Governor.

Well, unkowningly (of course!), you just rubbed my nose in my STUPID mistake from yesterday!!! LOL

Every year our govenor walks in our parade. We are HUGE fans - campaigned for him last time and will again this time. Anyway, for whatever reason, I can never get a good picture. So, this year, I tell dh I'm ready, I'm getting a good picture this time. He (and his wife) are walking up waving, etc. A little bit from us, he jumps to the other side and starts shaking hands, so I'm getting bummed! Just in time, he comes back over and I take a few pictures. My ds steps in the street to shake his hand and the govenor POSES for a picture!!! WOOHHOOOO!!!!!! Ummm, not exactly, I had the camera zooming in for when he was farther away and I can't get it to go back out. Some security guy - or whatever- behind the gov keeps saying - are you done, we have to move on- so I say, "got it!" BUT, I really didn't!! I was just so mortified by then! I've been sick out it ever since -

Thank you so much! I was kinda bummed Danny had that goofy red gel stuff in his hair, for the 4th....

But it's still a way cool pic, none the less.

Ehhh - I supposed he's not as bad as your muppet. But check out this guy: (I cannot find a pic of this hot man!!!! How is this possible??? I did think he was awfully young - maybe he dont want anyone to know what a hot tamale he is!!! His name: Alexi Giannoulis)

He is also running - for State Treasurer though - and also was running down the street. I wasnt quick enough with my camera, I was too... HUBBA HUBBA!

Now he's a Democrat- but he *might* get my vote. Simply cuz of his YUMMY good looks! And he's Greek...*I* am Greek. We were meant to be. **swoon**

I never realized how dry wall can insue laughter in 2 15 y/o boys. I was ready to kill them with all the giggling.
