My snowball is finally rolling!!

Just wanted to post my plan and share my excitement.

I've been following Dave Ramsey for a few years and overall got a handle on day-to-day spending, but never really became "gazelle" about paying off debt. I did it to a degree, but would then blow money in chunks, primarily feeding my Disney addiction.

So, I decided to visit www.llnoe.com and posted details @ my situation. In the end, with focus & not too much pain, I can be debt free (Personal loan & 2 vehicles) by July 2010

DH is on board with the plan.

Please send pixie dust to help us stay disciplined and to keep Murphy away for the next 9 months.

Wow! Congratulations on your plan and discipline Really, it is amazing what you can do when you stick to a plan. July 2010 is really not that far off, and then just imagine what financial freedom you will have. I note that your snowball is rolling just in time for winter.

It's an un-official forum dedicated to the Dave Ramsey plan. The "look" of the site is just like the Disboards, so I have a comfort level with it.

I joined a while back just to lurk and finally put my info out there earlier this week. The folks were great and helped me look at my situation with a different set of eyes.

We've been blessed with a big shovel that I can use, hence the quick turnaround time on tackling this debt. But I've possessed the big shovel for about 2 years and never focused enough at working it to my advantage.

My plan is to finally "Just do it"

Funny you should post this, I just re-did our budget for 2010 and if we put off a few home improvement projects we have planned, we'll be debt free except for the mortgage by the end of 2010. I spoke with DH and he's on board. So hopefully by this time next year, we'll see the light at the end of the tunnel!

OP, congrats! I'm jealous. With our current plan we'll only have the car paid off a year from now...then we work on DVC (short work, really, by then). Of course I'm working on the "snowflakes" (little bits of money you "find" to put towards the debt's principal) etc, but with the official plan, it's a year for the car.

Wonderful! We have been doing the plan for a bit over 3 years too and have all of our loans other than the mortgage paid off! It is a wonderful feeling!
