My snow garden...and the bunny

I have not seen the ground for months now.. my driveway is like a skating rink.. it is so cold.. Last night driving down the driveway on my way to pick up DH at the train, I saw a little jack rabbit run out of his hole and just stop short in one of my garden areas.. In the summer, I want to smack him one for eating everything, but in the winter, I was just so glad to see him.. He sat in the snow covered garden like a statue.. which makes me laugh right out loud.. I think they think if they sit perfectly still, we cannot see them.. I stopped the car and looked at him for a good minute and he did not move... when I moved the car and went on my way, he was out of there lickety split..

Is spring coming??

LOL, Marsha! What a lovely thought! And that cute little bunny staring eye to eye with you. I can just see him now!

I wish spring were on its way. Right now I feel like the frozen tundra rules.

I guess that's why I appreciate spring so much. So much to look forward to after a long winter.

Hugs to you. We don't have much snow.....dustings......but I hate the cold and the dreariness.

LOL, what a sweet little bunny! I know ours have been out and about (I see the tracks), but I haven't seen them in person. Poor little guys....it's just so FRIGID!!!!!!!!!

Why is it so darn cold - I thought it was an El Nino year????

Is he out and about cuz he is hungry.. what is there for him to eat.. everything is frozen over.. so I said to my DH.. I want to leave some carrots... then he reminded me we live in wetlands, which I lovingly refer to as Wild Kingdom.. and he said the bunny would never get the carrots.. Please don't tell me he is hungry.. I will just be so sad. they are the cutest animals.. I think I will call him Thumper..

Awww....what a cute story Marsha! I'm sure little Thumper is fine, just working harder to dig down and munch on the vegetation he can find.

I am no green thumb and hardly ever come to this board, but just happened to be browsing tonight and I read this post...how sweet!! Poor thing, I hope he finds some food to eat!! What a cute story, Marsha!!

I love the rabbits that are in our area. Obviously I would prefer they stay away from the garden, but it always makes me sad to see the cats chase one out of there.

I worry for the little fellas.
