My sister is dead - UPDATE regarding THIS thread page 15..

Go to private messages, you should automatically be in the inbox area. delete all those, then you should see a menu box, go to the sent folder and delete all those. I don't think the message tracking area counts.

C.Ann I am sorry to hear this. I also recommend getting in contact with the local PD in Battle Creek and request assisitance, or even calling the paper. When everything happened with my cousin in Boulder, there was a wonderful man at the Daily Camera that would keep me updated when I would miss their articles.

Is there a VA hospital anywhere in the Battle Creek area?

Yes:

Veteran's Administration

Address: 5500 Armstrong
Battle Creek, MI 49015
Phone/Fax: (xxx) xxx-xxxx

My apologies, that phone number is old. This one should work (i hope)

Battle Creek VA Hospital, 5500 Armstrong Road, Battle Creek, MI 49016, 616-966-5600

Although Battle Creek recently went to the 269 area code. You might try 269-966-5600

I'm sure if she died the way you say she did there will be a newspaper account of the event.

In any case, good luck. I feel for you......sometimes families are so secretive that it does more harm than good in the long run.

*hugs* to you tonite to help calm your nerves. I'm sure it's a confusing situation for you right now....

Just received a "cut and paste" of the supposed newspaper article. I'm not sure it's real - something about the wording doesn't seem right.

If you have her social security number, you can try looking it up on SS website. How awful! Also, have you tried doing a search online of her name? Should pull up any articles about it.

The date is wrong. It's November 7th, 2001 - not December.

Obviously I'm NOT thinking right. I'm going to search her name now - thanks for that idea.

C. Ann,

where did you get the cut and paste? I just went through the Battle Creek Enquirer archives from Nov 7 through Nov 17 and there is nothing about this story.

I just found her date of death - November 7, 2001 - via one of those Social Security sites. It gives her last address as Battle Creek - but the info if from Calhoun, MI.. She was going by her maiden name.

Now I need to find out where she is..

I would contact the police any way, C.Ann. And don't trust Social Security for dates...they have my Dad's date of death WRONG! And apparently, no way for them to fix it.

Oh C.Ann, that's awful. I'm sorry. Especially for the way you had to find out. I'd really like to do some damage to your ex-bil.

Oh CAnn. :( Right up until this post, I was still holding out hope this was someone's (horrible!) idea of a joke. I'm sorry. I hope you can find out *** has been going on quickly. :(
