Had a total hyster at age 49 because of a huge fibroid. My original gyn kept saying "it will shrink after menopause" but it caused o much hemorrhaging every month that my internal med doc wanted to slap me into the hospital for a transfusion!
NEW gyn left it up to me, but I had to do something fast! She also took ovaries (I had 2 friends die of ovarian cancer) and my appendix cuz I told her as long as she's in there, why not! Dr. told me I would be off work 6-8 weeks, and I probably would have, but at 5 weeks I helped my DD change a tire.
Bad mistake! I was out for 10 weeks.
