My Secret Pre Trip Report

Ok a little background first. Last year I took my DS then 6 to Disney for his first trip. On the day of the trip I told him his dad and I decided he could miss a day of school and go to an air show with me and Grandma and Grandpa. The night before I had loaded the car with the luggage then pulled the cover over it. We got to the airport dropped DS and my dad off then circled around and checked in. We told DS the air show had been cancelled and instead he and I would fly to Chicago and back. In Chicago he didn't catch on when the announced our flight and only caught on towards the end of the flight when they gave the Orlando area weather.

So this year I want to have a secret trip again. So here is the plan. I talked my parents into driving thier RV down and spending a few days and a MNSSHP with us. So DS and I are driving down on 9/7 arrive 9/8 and my parents will get there on 9/14. I am going to tell him that my parents drove thier RV down to GA and we are going to pick them up to bring them back home. I can't wait to see the look on his face when we drive into Orlando and the Disney property.

My DH and family and friends are not all about Disney like DS and I are so they are not to interested in all my pre trip arrangements. So I was so happy to find the DIS boards and people who share my love of Disney. I grew up in Tampa so we made many trips when I was growing up and I have missed it so much.

I have most of our days planned as to which parks on which day and since we have free dining I have submitted my ADR choices to the travel agent. I hope to hear back from her today or tomorrow if I got them all. 9/12 is my birthday and I am hoping for the Epcot Princess breakfast and then LTT for dinner. DS will not be thrilled with my choice of breakfast! LOL

Here is the schedule so far:

9/8 MGM in afternoon since MK has night of Joy
9/9 AK Donalds for Breakfast
9/10 MK Crystal Palace for Breakfast
9/11 Epcot Lunch at Garden Grill
9/12 MK for my Birthday! LTT for dinner
9/13 Ohana for breakfast then meet my parents and spend the day with them going to try and catch the electric parade that night at FW along with the campfire and movie
9/14 MK and MNSSHP
9/15 Epcot
9/16 ?
9/17 ?

We are staying at AS Sports from 9/8 to 9/13 then with my parents in the RV at Fort Wilderness.

I will update with more when I get my ADR's.

Last year Will wanted to get a hair cut at the disney barber shop. He even got a hidden Mickey! He loved it so much he wore a shower cap to bed so he could save it for another day! Goofy boy!

Well I didn't get my ADR at Donald's in AK for the 10th so I am switching AK to Sunday the 9th when I can get an ADR even though it is going to kill me to wait another day for MK!

I am still trying to get into Crystal Palace for one of my days in MK but no luck so far.

Ok more switching around but I got Crystal Palace for breakfast on the 10th but I am glad because I didn't know if I would get in.

Oh I can't wait to get back there! 2 weeks and counting now. Next Friday we will be on our way.

We watched a program on Travel Channel all about the 4 parks and I just wanted to be there now!

Good luck....we'll just miss each other. We don't arrive until the 22nd. My DD and your DS would probably get along great!

Thanks Joi. I asked DS when I first started planning if he would want to be surprised again or know ahead of time and he said be surprised. It's hard for me though because I want someone to share my excitement! LOL

I am getting so excited we are under 2 weeks and getting close to singel digits now! DS just saw a commercial for WDW and asked if we could go for my birthday (which is Sept 12) and I said no way. I said too much planning is involved. There is no way I could have it all done in time. KOTS is fun but it has been really hard this year! LOL It will be worth it though when I see his face and how surprised he will be!

I got my travel documents today. I am really going! I am thinking about what I need to pack and waiting for a few things to come in the mail that I ordered for the trip. I have decided to leave earlier on Friday because I can and it means getting to Disney earlier on Saturday.

Last year we went to MNSSHP on Oct 2 and had a lot of fun. We are going on Sept 14 this year.

I am starting to get all of my stuff together. I can't start actually packing because DS would catch on but I am getting the stuff together I need. I have some window clings for our resort window and I am going to make a sign with all my scrapbook stuff to put on the door. I also have a few things to stick on the window ledge. I have started putting my itenarary together in excel also. I am getting pretty excited! WDW here we come!

Winnie the Pooh for ledge

I'm going to try and find our Mickey Halloween window clings too since we are going during MNSSHP.

I am ready to start packing now.

I can't wait to tell about his response! My latest idea to drag it out is letting him watch Pirates when we get near so his attention is drawn elsewhere. I also want to do a trip report with food reviews too.
