Our recent trip to WDW consisted of some very fine dining experiences!
We had many nice dinners, and I will post reviews slowly..as I am quite busy.... but love to write restaurant reviews!! :)

I will start with our last nights dinner (guess it is freshest in my mind!! LOL)

Shula's ! ahhhh, our 5th time to have dinner at this fine establishment, and just as good as ever, or better!

we had a 9:30 pm priority seating, and when we arrived, they sat us in the back at a very nice table, with a waiter and assistant that we had 2 yrs ago! We remembered Thomas, since he was so good the last time!
We began our dinner with appetizers, we shared the BBQ shrimp stuffed with Basil, and we shared the salad w/tomato and gorgonzola cheese,, ohhhh sooo yummy !!!

then, I had the filet mignon, rare, very rare, and it was perfect!!! so delicious, melt in your mouth!
dh had the prime rib, which was excellent also! He has had the 48oz porterhouse twice, he's on the wall :) but it was late, and he wasnt that hungry (LOL) so he went for the prime rib, which he loves !
we shared the asparagus , and the creamed spinach, both are great, gotta love creamed spinach at a steak house!

Then...yes, we had dessert! dh had the cheese cake, which he has had before, and it was awesome, creamy, Light (yeah right) well it is good to think that way anyway!
I tried a dessert I never had before, and boy did I make a great decision! I had the red velvet chocolate cake, it was amazing! It is a chocolate cake (dyed red , but it is so dark in Shula's that you couldnt even tell, thank god ) the cake has a carrot cake icing on it! omg, it was spectacular!!!!
imagine combining a great choc cake w/the icing from a carrot cake...the best of both worlds!

we both started w/beer(Bass & Heineken) ... and then had a glass of cabernet (forgot what kind) with dinner (I know yuck, mixing beer and wine... but whatever,...:)). we had cappuccino w/Baileys w/dessert.

it was a 5 ***** dinner, the food, service, atmosphere were all top notch!
and Shula's remains on our favorites list !!!!!!!!!! :)

more reviews to come..... including V&A's !! :)

Laura :)

Okay..........

Give me a minute to wipe the drool off of my keyboard...... :)

Were there any leftovers???

What was the bill before and after tip (if I may be so bold)???

Dress code???

TIA!!!!

Your dinner sounds delicious! Thanks for the wonderful review.
I'm glad you enjoy writing them, because I really enjoy reading them!
We have yet to try Shula's. My DH's favorite meal is a good steak, so maybe next trip.

Man, did that cake sound good! LOL :D I'm glad you had a nice dinner.

I'm laughing ! glad you guys enjoyed my review ! :)

Flower...you wont believe this..I keep every receipt, and we always have one because we charge everything to the room charge....however, you cant do room charge at Shula's, and so we paid cash, I dont have a receipt! But I can tell you it was around $200, over $200 with tip. well worth it :)

dress code, no tank tops.... but smart casual seems to be the norm...
leftovers... some vegetables... a bit of my steak,
and some off my cake, I ate all the icing, and half the cake, i was just soooo full!

dh had no left overs..:)

Sounds wonderful! We are headed to Shulas in Dec! That is to long to wait though!

Thank you for the great review.:) We had a wonderful dinner as well this last trip. Our only complaint was a busboy downing Disney CMs and how he won't work for Disney blah blah blah. We didn't want to hear this during our dinner. Had a real chip on his shoulder. Chickened out on the Porterhouse :o. Wanted to enjoy some other stuff other than just the steak. The waiter suggested the Cowboy Ribeye. It was perfect and rare. BIL "ruined";) a perfectly good filet by having it done med well. He did mention it was the best cut he has ever had. There are some pics in the link below of some of their items. Oh yea one other complaint. They do not have complimentary wheelbarrows to get you out of there. You just have to roll on your own.:)

hey madoco... I agree that your BIL must have ruined that filet! ughh, anything more than rare (or med rare in some cases..if it is perfect) is a waste of a steak!
wheelbarrels would be a good idea! :)

lol, what a great restaurant! :)

Ok, we're there for dessert one night. I absolutely adore Red Velvet Cake, but it's almost impossible to find in CA and just too much trouble to make from scratch (yes I have made it from scratch......once  ). I know what one of my cheats will be in September.

kitster, make sure to call and find out if Shula's allows dessert only, I supose you can sit in the lounge / bar area and order dessert only ! not a bad idea!!! :)

have fun!

Thanks for the wonderful review. I'm now more excited than ever to try Shula's when I go in October.

I'm glad the its dark in there, because as a diehard NE Patriots fan, I don't know if I'll be able to look at all the Dolphin's memorabilia for a couple of hours. :p

Well the menu is a football and there is enough memorabilia to drive you crazy but the steaks out weigh the negative. ;)

Thanks for the wonderful reviews ~ We already have our ps for October, can't wait!!!

princess angel, my new mission in life is to get put up on the wall right next to your husband! 48oz porterhouse, I am salivating right now just thinking about it:p

Excellent report, I will put that on my do do list the next time I get out there!

Shula's sounds absolutely wonderful.........I may be the only one who has never heard of it....where is it? Are reservations accepted?
Thanks
:)
