My reservations were canceled by Disney?

Disney's Guest Relations called me last night. They were able to book us in to Chef Mickey's on that evening. The CM, Emily, was very helpful and admitted that mistakes are sometimes made and was very apologetic.

Lesson learned: ALWAYS confirm your ADR's 2-3 weeks before arrival!!!

And that is true with any situation. The day we stop having some sort of human interaction with computers and machines will be the day the Terminators rise and John Connor starts running for his life.

Remember that IF the new dining system comes up with the capabilities to make online dining reservations, there still will be human interaction. Yours and only yours. No one will be able to say there was a Cast Member error. Any problems will be yours alone.

For those who called to confirm their ADR's were they alright? Just wondering we've been doing ADR's for years and never had an issue so just curious if anyone else had an issue with the dining system being worked on.

I just confirmed our ADR's the other day and our 8:05 AM ADR for CP was listed as 8:05 PM. I had checked before this when I added more ADR's to our list and it was fine, I have no idea what changed. The CM told me that there were no more openings available so I explained that I knew something changed on her end although my confirmation number matched the one she had. She placed me on hold and corrected the problem. This is the only issue I have ever had but I always keep my confirmation numbers handy JIC>

Glad it worked out for you!!

You had me concerned - so I called to check on mine... They were all fine... but I was able to get that last ADR that I wanted that I haven't been able to get for the last 2 months!!! :cool1:

Ever since I heard of everyone's problems, I have the CM check every time that I call on every ADR. I just called to change something and the CM told me they need a cell phone # for when we are in Disney, so I gave her the # and then she proceeded to change all of the ADR's to my cell #. I am a little worried, but for now everything seems to be fine. Maybe I'll call back and check again... just to be sure:)
My kids would be devastated if we didn't get into some of the places!

when we were at Disney in July we had adv. res. at chef mickeys for a birthday (cake and all). when we arrived early, we had to wait in line. there was people in front of us trying to get a table with no res. finally after a while they were seated. then it was our turn. i told them we were there for our reservations (guess what they couldn't find them) then they started looking around still nothing. they asked for our res. number so i got it out still nothing. they said we already check in and i said no we just arrived, after searching we were told someone else checked in under our reservation and took our reservations. i said does that mean that they lost the birthday cake we ordered to. she said oh they remember the birthday cake order and found the cake papers. but since the table was gone we would have to wait. so we waited another 30+minutes for our table. then since we were one of the last tables before closing our dinner was rushed characters and all, the hardly gave us time to get our plates and they brought the cake out.
