My report on our first Pop stay

We just got back last week. We stayed at Pop Century for the first time. Actually, it was our first time staying on sight. Can I say it's SO worth the few extra bucks to stay on site?
We reserved a standard room. I got a bit worried about the distance to and from the bus stops and Food court so I faxed a request for room location to reservations. They actually got me within 2 rooms of the room I requested. We stayed in room 6432. 70's building. Over looking the lake, Generation Gap bridge, AND the nightly foreworks from Epcot! We could HEAR Fantasmic and see some of the light from it. From our room, when we went down the elevator, we were right in the middle of the giant fooseball. We were not far from the food court or the hippy dippy pool, but far enought to not hear the late night swimmers.
It was actually really pleasant. It was crowded but not overly crowded.
The only complaint that I had isn't anyones "fault" because I knew ahead of time, but NO COFFEE POTS. When you need coffee early in the AM, it IS a long haul to the food court! The sink area is a bit small but we made due.

Over all, we will definately go back to this resort again. I miss it already!

I've stayed at all levels of resorts, GF, BCV, OKW, POFQ..etc...and something about POP always makes me look to make a reservation there first before all the other hotels. Not just the price being right, but I love the layout,and the rooms are just big enough for me and DBF. And I believe they have the BEST bus sytem! Everytime we walked up to the bus stop, the bus we wanted was rolling right in! The staff there is extremely friendly, and it's just such a fun environment!

This definately has to be the best of the values too, it seems like from the number of reviews of it, more people stay there than any other value.

I have to agree with the buses! We never waited very long for a bus. There were at least 2 times that we had another bus pull up next to the one we already had! No standing!!
We felt kind of like royalty because the other bus stops were one bus to usually two and sometimes three resorts! We had one or two buses to our one resort!

You know, I was nervous after booking a stay at POP in July. We've never stayed at one of the Values before. BUT, almost everything you read on here about POP is positive, so they must be doing something right. Thanks for sharing your great experience (and your room number!).

Hi iluvdiznee - Thanks for your report. We will be staying there in April. =) I'm so excited. So when did you fax the request? And what did you say? I want to stay in the 80s and I had them note that in my reservations. I want to stay on the side that is closest to Classic Hall. It seems like your location was almost part of the preferred rooms. =) Nice!

We stayed at POP in December, and will be back again next month. We LOVED it there. This time, we will be doing preferred room locations as we were stuck as far away from everything as possible during the last trip. (90's building, way in the back!)

The customer service there is amazing! One morning, when I had to go to the front desk for something, my dd, age 5, came with me and the service rep asked her if she could take care of something "special" for him. She said yes, and he gave her a "pet rock". She didn't really understand what a pet rock was , but they let her fill out an adoption paper and all. It was great!

I never once felt like I was at a "Value" resort- especially with the buses that take you directly to and from the parks without stopping for additional resort guests! It was fantastic!! Can't wait to go back!
