Booked thru Alamo, full size, Grand Am or similar and I had it booked for $249 for 9 days. Just redid it with the walmart contract ID and the entertainment coupon of $20 off and got it for less than $175!!!
I wish I could figure out how to get rates like this. I tried my dates with the walmart code and the $15 off code for one week Aug 22-29 and got a rate for a midsize for $263 with taxes. Are you kidding me Alamo?
I'm with you, what am I doing wrong? My rate is $344.34 using Walmart code and the Entertainment coupon! My rental period is from 8/8-8/15. My pickup location is the Car Care Center - could that make a difference?? and that much of a difference?????
Mine went down too....yea!!!
My first rate was $355.00 for nine days in July with National Emerald Isle...then it went down to $325.00, then $265.00 and there it stayed for awhile..It was more that I wanted to pay but hey, that's they way it goes. Well I check last night and it went down to $154.00....I couldn't believe it. So of course I rebooked the reservation, and boy am I glad I did. Because today it went back up to $265.00....

Wal-mart code for National is 5000304 and, depending on the time of your rental and the size of the car you choose, you can use Coupon Code ND41 for $20 off for the week. Be sure to print the coupon from the National homepage in case you need it.

If you don't mind me asking which codes you used? we are also going in Sept. and CCC and Dolphin have benn significantly higher for me.
$159 mco vs $239 .... I've been checking every couple of days since beginning of April.
When you rent a car there are 3 different ways to get discounts instead of paying full price. There is:
id # which is what affiliation you have.. ex. AAA, Walmart, Bjs, etc.
usually with an id, they then have coupons that you can put in. One might be for a free day when you rent a car for 5 days.
The other is a rate code which could give you a special rate.
If you go under alamo or national and check out their deals, then click on reserve it automatically bring up that rate code.
When I reserved a car I have a bjs membership so I put in an id code, and a coupon code. There are some discount codes listed on mousesavers website. Also, you maybe able to find them under some airlines.
i hope I explained myself correctly..if not..someone please chime in!
For my trip last week, the rate for National went from $193 when I originally booked it in late January to $105 a couple of weeks before. That was intermediate, emerald aisle, ND41 coupon. I found the best contract code to be Emerald Club - 5007125.

I used the walmart code and the ND41 coupon. I had just happened to book the 12 hours this week when the rates went down. But I did compare both MCO and CCC when I did it, and there was no difference in price.
