My Rant for the day : Chat Speak.

I DESPISE CHAT SPEAK!!!

There. I feel better.
I really hate wen ppl rite like dis. i hav 2 stik up 4 mi chat spek, ya no.

It really annoys me, and seems immature. It takes ALL my strength not to write back "English please?".
Chat speak should be reserved for texts only.

JMHO, anyone else dislike chat speak?

Yes, it really bugs me. I rarely even type like that when I text. It seems so.. uneducational, ha im not sure if thats even a word.

I hate it so much.
I won't even use it in text messages.
I have to write the whole message out correctly or it bugs the heck out of me.
It takes me a second more to type "Why?" as it does "Y?"
Someone I know says "nething" all the time. Usually I'm like clueless until I figure out 10 minutes later it means "anything." and all it has is 1 more letter.
I get completely confused, and I don't like it.

I hate it too! I've always hated it. I never use it in texts either. The only time I think I use it is saying "lol" or occasionally "OMG" but thats it. But whats even worse is when people actually write out chat speak on like, school papers Yeah I'm sure thats not gonna fly in the real world.

I hate it to.
Sometimes I have to ask them "What" cause how they write it could be represented into two different words.
I will admit that I use dnt, knw, u, y...but only when i'm in a hurry or am just feeling lazy. I prefer to write the whole letter out.
Sounds much more mature and grammatical.

I have a few friends who do that to me all the time. Its bugs me at first but I get used to it. I try not to talk chat talk in text messages though. However, I will cut out a letter or two if I am running out of characters...certain people can only receive 160 characters so I try sending one message if possible. But I don't TyP lYk DiS cZ iZ fN nD i Cn. Because really, it's hard to read and it's really stupid. lol

There are some words however that I type weird ways out of habit. And I try really not to on here. For example:

rly, u, lyk, idk, idc, idr, cuz, omg, etc...

Its very annoying. I only use it on txt messages but not on a daily basis. I can't tell you the last time I've said, "lol"

I'm the only one of all my friends who IMs in complete sentences with proper grammar. They get annoyed at how I type, and I get annoyed at how they type.

i HATE it. It seems really immature. But I will admit that I will say : lol, idk, omg, and y. and i only say them to save time or to save characters. And I only use them in texts and sometimes in IMs.

I agree it is so annoying. It takes me like 2 hours(not really) to read a sentence, because it confuses the heck out of me, and I don't understand what they're saying sometimes.

I don't mind it but when I dont understand what they said I ask them what they said. I dont use it because I dont know what is what the only ones I really know is lol,idc,and idk. If that even counts.

I've been known to use lol or omg, but that's about it. Otherwise I type in full sentences everywhere. I know people who were in my english class this year (keep in mind that I just finished my junior year of highschool) and they used chatspeak in their essays and such. Then, they couldn't figure out why my teacher took off points for grammar. They thought chatspeak was correct grammar! I read one of the papers handed in by one of these people and saved a sentence because I thought it was so hilarious.

No lies. That was on their thesis paper about the Adventures of Huck Finn and the Adventures of Tom Sawyer (we read both).

I despise most forms of chat speak, however I'm subject to heavy acronym usage and leetspeak on random occasion.

and stuff like that.
but i don't type/text in excessive chat speak, and if you do, i probably won't talk to you.

I have typed in chat speak but not a lot.

I use 'lol' a lot and it really bugs me because now it seems like i cant have one conversation on msn or post on a comment where i don't use it.

If that makes sense
