No dice. Called Disney this morning and basically they had no clue how to link people that are not on your reservation with your FP+ options. My MIL is a Fla resident and is joining us for a couple of days during our trip. I tried to add her to our hotel room but couldn't bc she wasn't part of our package. Now with FP+ she can't participate in our FP selections even tho I plan to pay the extra $ to add her to our room when we get there. Ugh!

Disney told me to try and link her via MDE and it doesn't work. I will be calling back.

I hope this experience helps them realize the kinks in the system!

I think this is a known limitation of the system as it stands today--you can't.

This is definitely an issue with the system that needs to be addressed. We have friends that we often meet in FL for a day or so during our trips. Now, there is no way (w/o SB lines) to ride those attractions together. Mind you, we have 6 children under the age of 5 between us....so standing in long lines is a no go.

I also have the same problem. Trying to add my daughter who will join us for part of our stay to have the same FP+ won't work without a resort reservation. I can add her to our room when she arrives but she will not get a magic band.

Background info is that she had her own room and tickets linked to MDE with all of our FP+. Now her boyfriend broke up with her and she is staying with us. Disney said as soon as I cancel her room only reservation she will lose all the rides we already booked. She already has her magic band since we leave February 12. What a nightmare.

Does she have FL resident tickets linked to an MDE account? If so, once she is on your resort reservation, you should be able to copy your FP+ onto her band so she can join you.

No. I bought her hopper passes and then she linked them to her MDE. They said when she cAncels her room reservation all fast passes will be deleted. She still will have a MDE account though. They also said no new magic band upon arrival to stay with us. She will get a Key card no band for the room. It's so confusing. I have up until 4 days to cancel room and I will wait til the very end to cancel. And once you link a ticket you cannot unlink it. You can transfer to someone else that has MDE that's it.

I can only add her to my room not my package. If they add her to my package it will be a ton of money and it will be for my entire package. She has her own tickets.

I am looking for a way to keep her existing magic band and match our fast passes upon her arrival. They said it cannot be done. She will have to do them at the park each day. Any thoughts??

Does she have a MDE account of her own. Add her to your family and friends and then invite her to share and plan Once she accepts the invitation you should be able to add her FP+ along with your family.

She does and we have. Problem is when I cancel her room her magic band will get deactivated. When she arrives at my hotel and I add her to my room she will get the key card. MDE will be active but to link hers with mine she will need a resort reservation number for the FP+.

I don't think what they are telling you is true. Did you talk to IT or CRO? When we stayed at AKL in December, a couple was checking in in front of us. I overheard them say they just made their reservation on their drive down. They were handed grey magic bands and were instructed how to use them, ncluding how to make FP +. Based on this, I would imagine your daughter would get a magic band once she is on your reservation. In addition, a friend of mine travelled with her brother in November. Based on her ticket circumstance, she could not make FP+ prior to arrival, so her brother made FP+ and she was able to link her tickets once she was on site and simply then copied his FP+ to her account. I really think you'll be able to do this. Once she is on your reservation, she is a resort guest and should have access to FP+

I am planning a trip for Sept. My boys and I will be going out to WDW a couple days before my DH can join us (work). I was told the only way to link him to our reservation is to put him in for the whole package (all nights in the resort and the same tickets) But he will only be there 1-2 of our 4-5 days!
So, either I pay for him for the whole package, or he will not get to have the same FP as us:(

I am new to WDW, we live in CA and always go to DL. This trip is so much more work to plan!!!!!
:confused3

I will hope for this when we get there. Thanks for the info!

Just called to add my MIL to our reservation and I can't unless she gets our package. Oh well! I just don't want to stand in line at the kiosks since I've already spent hours researching and picking out my FP+ options. We are doing what disney wants (staying on property) and she should have access to FP+ in advance since I am willing to add her and pay the extra $$ for the third adult in the room.
As long as I can add her to existing FP+ via my app when she is officially on our reservation, I guess that will work. Not the end of the world!

I am going to write Disney for what it's worth and let them know they need to address this issue!
