Ok, I'm a little freaked out but I just booked DS and I a trip for July 21-28. We have been every year since he was 4 but we vowed to skip this year because we are planning a huge 3rd birthday extravaganza with my god-daughter, my best friend and the whole fam next summer.

We said we would just wait to go back.

We said that our trip to Mexico was our family adventure this summer and we'll deal with the Disney withdrawal.

Then...my 11 year old kept asking me about going. Telling me that our trips were his favorite things ever. Asking for RRC and EE. And I thought about how wonderful our mother/son trips had been. And how Disney has bonded us and given us our "thing". And tonight I booked our trip. Without consulting DH, without thinking things through, with out worrying about money....

I just booked it. And I am jumping around the kitchen like a maniac!

I am a teacher so I have the time off. I planned to use that week to get ready for school. But, now I'll go to school this week and set up my room and prepare for next year so I can enjoy my DS. Because, at the age of 11, he wants to be with me for a week at Disney and I can't let that go or dismiss that.

So, my pre-trip report begins now. We went premium last time but this trip is spur of the moment, Port Orleans Riverside, no ADR's yet.

I'll be making some ADR's soon and will report back. It hasn't hit me yet but his is my PTR! Holy cow :)!!!

Well, DH still doesn't know since he left early this morning for work. I'm hoping to get him good and loosened up with some adult beverages one night this week and tell him :lmao: Might have to wait until Friday!

Here is the tentative plan that DS and I developed today:

7/21: Arrive, to Epcot, 1:40 Biergarten ADR; Future World
7/22: MK, 6:05 Kona Cafe ADR
7/23: AK, 1:30 Tusker House ADR
7/24: Water Park/Disneyquest; MK EMH at 11:00 PM; 1:00 TRex ADR
7/25: DHS; maybe go to Grand Floridian Afternoon Tea
7/26: AK or DHS, 6:25 Spoodles ADR; tour Boardwalk, maybe to EP to hear Summer concert or see Illuminations
7/27: Epcot; eat around the world
7/28: Morning EMH MK; 12:55 The Wave ADR; rent Searacers; Leave in evening

Tried to follow the best park of the day from the unofficial guide. Booked the ADR's online and that was fab :thumbsup2 We have been at Disneyworld over the 4th holiday and New Years and survived so I'm not too worried about crowds. We are Fastpass gurus! However, I am hoping for some showers to cool things off and clear the crowds for a while. It is in the high 90's and 100's here so I'm hoping for a little relief!!!

What do you think?

Ok, I wasn't going to subscribe to any more TR's, I mean I have to eat and clean house some time. But I saw your sig, I'm originally from San Angelo, TX. A proud Texan now living in the next best place, Florida. I say that just because of WDW. I have a 10 year old DS, who believe it or not doesn't ever want to go to WDW.:confused3 If he didn't look like me I would swear I came home from the hospital with the wrong baby. He enjoys it once he gets there though.

We are leaving POR on the 21st, so we will make sure to pick up after ourselves.:rotfl: I'll try to keep you updated on the weather.

Can't wait to hear how it goes with the DH!

Well, I chickened out so I texted DH today and said, "Guess what?! Just got a great deal on Disney so DS and I are going back. Cheap! He is sooo excited!"

He texted back, "Wow!" and just came home and said, "Disney, huh?" and rolled his eyes. I'm taking that as his blessing on our trip ;):lmao:''

So, full speed ahead. Mexico from July 13-17 and Disney from July 21-28. I need to start taking my vitamins now, this could be exhausting. And awesome :thumbsup2.

Starting some shoe and shorts/tanks shopping tomorrow for me and some sport shorts and another pair of good flip flops for DS.

21 days :scared1::banana:

Just saw your reply! Hope you and DS have a great trip and he feels the magic once he is inside the gates! Love to hear about the weather though I keep telling myself it can't be worse than it is here.
