I will try to make this brief!!
We stayed at POR from 6/9 to 6/13. We had requested bldg 14, but it was not available. THey offered us a room in Oak Manor (room 9255). We had a lovely courtyard view. At first I was disappointed, but realized they were busy and checking in on a Thursday Morning there were probably not many rooms available. Check in took 15 minutes, and the CM was friendly, but not overly so.
The location of Oak Manor is very deceiving. It is better to be in a mansion that has a Bridge close by. We needed to walk to the bridge, then cross over, then go back over to get to the main bldg. The bridge to the pool was a good walk to. It was nice at night, but long after a day in the park!
The room was in great condition. No complaints about cleanliness. We tipped housekeeping daily and got a towel rose, but no animals.
We got the Mug, as usual..... but with the meal plan and the location of the room, it was not worth it this time. I brought a Britta water bottle that we filled throughout our trip. I should have saved the money on the mugs.
The food court was hit or miss. The line for Pizza was SOOOO long, but breakfast was pretty good (we got there early each day).
Kyle loved the pool. We took the boat to and from DTD our first day, which is a lovely relaxing ride.
I hated the bus transportation - only because I have always rented a car, and was spoiled with that. We only had to wait a long time for a bus just once. We did have to stand on occasion, but mostly we were able to sit. The busiest night was after Illuminations, and there were two busses right away. We used the East Depot and the Main Depot. I liked the East Depot during the mid day, because it was the last stop to be picked up. I think I will pay for the car from now on - I just found that we wasted a lot of time waiting for the bus to and from the parks.
Bell Services helped with my luggage our last day, and they were terrific - came in just 10 minutes and found my bags two hours later with no problems.
Overall, I did like POR, but loved our stay at POFQ five years ago even more. I just thought POR was too large, and enjoyed the intimacy of FQ more. I do like the moderate resorts and appreciated the extras they offer.
