Right now I am in the middle of a move so my dog has to stay with my mother for a while. I'm going to live with my dad until I can get back on my feet and he doesn't allow pets in the house.
My mom is happy that Auggie is staying with her for a while but I'm going to miss my baby.
I worry about my dog being at my mother's house because that is where Junior was living when he wasn't on the road. My mom said that Auggie keeps going into Junior's room and looking around. Is she looking for him? It breaks my heart because I can't explain to her that he is gone and not coming back. And I hate that I can't be there to comfort her right now. She is about 90 minutes away from me while I'm still packing up this house. When I move she will be about 30 minutes away and I'll go spend lots of time with her.
If it was safer for her to be at my father's I would take her there but it isn't safe. This is the area where I grew up and where I lost many pets as a very young child. The neighbors were afraid any pets would get into their chickens so they would poison or shoot people's pets. In the woods at the back of the property there have always been many bear traps. Auggie wouldn't run off or anything but it still worries me that she could get hurt so easily out there.
Guess I just needed to get that off of my chest. My mother just came and got her yesterday but I already miss her terribly.
