My Points Redemption

For those who do My Points and who have redeemed points recently for Gift Cards: how long has it been taking for you to get your gift cards?

Our trip is in less than 4 weeks and I am afraid that I have waited too long to get something to use on vacation.

I have found it takes anywhere from two weeks to almost a month. Not sure what causes the difference in delivery time.

I cashed out in February, for Landry's cards, and I think it took between 4 and 6 weeks. I know it was over a month, I wrote down the day and time that I cashed out and I remember having to go back and look it up because I was worried. Also, watch your mail. The envelope is pretty generic, had I not been starting to panic about not getting my rewards I might not have been checking every envelope and could have thrown them out

Having said that, now that I've done it once, I think I'd have more confidence in them and not worry as much. Just a heads up, though, it can take a while.

Thanks. Since we are under 4 weeks, perhaps I will just redeem for something that we can use here at home and put the $ value of that towards our vacation.

I wouldn't plan on a redemption in less than 4 weeks and most likely more.

My last gift card (WalMart) took 6 weeks to receive. I need to order another gift card for our October trip but can't decide which one would be the most useful. I got 2 WalMart cards to stock up for BLT and 2 Cracker Barrel for dinner on the way to the airport.

Just received cards this past week, and I think it took between 2 and 3 weeks.

Usually between 4 and 6 weeks, I just cashed out last week for some cards we can use on our trip (which is 5 weeks away) so I'm hoping 6 weeks will be enough time to get the cards before our trip, but I wouldn't plan on getting them in less time than that.

My last giftcard, which was a Target card, took 2 weeks. I just ordered a couple more last week, so we'll see how long that those take.

Now that I know I need to order 6 weeks in advance, I need to get on ordering something before our vacation! Do the offers change frequently, either in value (like offering $25 and $50 cards instead of just $100) or do new merchants show up? Trying to decide where to spend the points! TIA

Mine have been 2-5 weeks, but one that I ordered last year never came, and I had to contact them and they replaced it. They did manage to make me feel like I stole it or something by saying that they would do it this one time, but not again. Like I have any control over the mail. So I do stress over it until they get here now.

I cashed out on 6/16 for my Landrys card and it fulfilled on the account as of 7/11. Now I have to wait for shipping time.

I believe how long it takes to ship has something to do with which merchant you choose to have your gift card from. That said it's typically taken 6 weeks to get my cards.

I just ordered a card for Rainforest Cafe, and I got it in 2 weeks.

I a RFC one at the 6 week mark.. hoping I'll get it in time.. the one I ordered last year seemingly took forever!

ETA: Just checked..says fulfilled 7/11/11 so it looks like I'll have it in time (33 days!!)

I've had cards show up in 2 weeks and then had other orders that took 2 months. There is no way to know how long it will take so I wouldn't take a chance on it.

I think they just added a bunch of new vendors but they don't change very often. They do sometimes run out of certain denominations. So if you see the card you need get it asap, especially gas cards- the $50-100 cards run out fast!

The time it takes to get the cards depends on the vendor. Mine usually take about 2-3 of weeks (I have gotten Gap, Shell and Landry's) but I would not redeem my points if I only had a month - just in case
