My Points question

I have enough points to get a meal at Rain Forest using a GC. I am wondering if there is anything else I could cash out my points for that would help on my trip? They don't offer Disney gift cards, right? Rain Forest is all I can find.

TIA!

I have cashed in over the years for Rainforest GC a couple of times too. It's fun to feel like you're eating for free! I have also cashed in for Red Lobster (off site ofcourse) and Walmart and bought some bottled water, soda and stuff after I got down there. If you're driving, you can cash in for gas cards. Hope you have a blast and enjoy your "freebies". :thumbsup2

I just recently had to join MyPoints because of the BuzzAgent conversion, I cashed out for a Raiforest also! I had just enough Buzz points for a $25 card.

But I've been a member at Sunshine Rewards and Cash Duck for a long time and sometimes I will cash out for a Walmart card and use that for something I would have used cash (household goods, milk, bread, etc.). Then the cash I would have spent at Walmart I buy my plane tickets or anything else I couldn't get a rewards gift card for.

Thanks for the info. I have enough points for my DD and I to eat at RF several times if we wanted to! I haven't cashed out my points in ages. I've been just waiting for my trip to Disney to finally work out.

Don't wait until close to your trip to get the RFC cards - they seem to be out of them on a regular basis.

I often cashout for cards that I can use for everyday things - ie Walmart - then put the cash toward something special.

Don't forget... the RFC cards can be used at the Yak & Yeti in AK too- not the window but, the sit down restarant. I hope we can use them at the new T-Rex restaurant too:banana: It looks soooo cool.

I didn't know that! Thanks!

I get the RFC, then Marriotts for the trip down, and finally gas cards.

Can anyone tell me how long the RF cafe gc are taking to ship? Its been a few weeks since I cashed out and I'm getting nervous as others usually come very quickly! Thanks!

My cards always take weeks. So don't worry too much.

Isn't there an outback in one of the DTD resorts? You can cash Mypoints in for outback.

Another thought is to get a gift card for something you use...like a Target card...use the Target card for things you would already be buying there, and tuck the $25 cash you would have spent into your Disney fun fund...I also do that with Barnes & Noble cards because my son and nieces are always requesting those as gifts.

Mypoints is super reliable...I've been using them for years.

Check your account history, see if it's been processed. Or just email them asking about it. When I've cashed out I get them inside a week.

I have cashed out for a LOT of RFC cards ($175 for our last trip) and they all came within a week. Now, I have 3 more I am cashing out. I ordered one, thinking I might use it locally, but when it was 3 weeks and hadn't received it, I decided to cash out for all the cards I would need on our October trip. I cashed out for 2 more RFC GC's and a $100 Marriott GC. The first RFC card, from 5 weeks ago, showed up. Then, 1 of the 2 from the later order showed up. The third one says "Fulfill" on my account page so I assume it will be here next week. No word on the Marriott card yet. It's a little weird. It has never taken more than 2 weeks to get any of the cards I have cashed out for in the past. :confused3

I went ahead and cashed out for RF, Chili's, and Outback around August 14th. Outback is showing as being fulfilled as of 9/5. The others are still showig only redeemed.

I'd order as soon as you know you want them. I hope mine come in time. I have a month, but am anxious.

UPDATE: The Marriott card came last week. I have 2 out of 3 of my RFC cards....STILL waiting on the 3rd, but my account says it has been fulfilled.

The WalMart, Target and CVS cards are great for buying all the pre-trip stuff you need. Film, batteries, photo card, sunscreen, snacks..........and after trip film developing or photo printing from your digital camera's media.

Just wanted to update for others: Outback arrived last week. Chili's arrived yesterday and I expect RF to be here today or tomorrow. So the turn around isn't too bad. BTW, each card comes in it's own envelope, even if it's for the same place. I got 2 envelopes yesterday for the Chili's card.

Thank you for all of the advice and help!
