I called when AP rates came out to book two Studio Villas at WL, but they only had one available. So I booked it, and then booked another at full price. I called back today to see if there were any rooms now available since the 'deposit due' date for early bookers had passed. There weren't. They did a have room in the WL itself at AP rates. So I called my husband to see if he wanted to move out of the villas, and we decided to do that. So...
I called WDW back, explained the situation, and asked to book the room instead of the villa. The lady asked if I wouldn't rather just have the second villa at the AP rate. Well, of course I would! So, she just switched it over for me!! I couldn't believe it. She said she didn't want us to have to be so far from our friends. Pixie dust everywhere!! (Saved us about $800!)
Just to note, the first person I talked to was from WDTC -- the second wasn't. I think it really pays to talk directly to CRO -- even then I was very fortunate!
Anyway -- I just had to share.
