It has been a while since I visited this board but I wanted to share my PIN code story. I have been one of the many frustrated people that never recieved a PIN code for years. We have travelled to WDW once or twice a year for years having to wait for public codes each time. I have several DVDS for wdw, cruise line and vacation club info. Every day my email is fullof mail from all the Disney sites I am registered at and yet nothing.
After our last trip in December when I recieved my customer survey I snapped. It came right after a work day where one of my coworkers was telling me about her most recent email offer. I sent them a "Dear John" letter and told them that while they were our favorite vaca site I was no longer feeling the love and that I was breaking up with them. After a few weeks I recieved an email from somebody in the customer service dept explaining that PIN codes were random and that they hoped I would still consider them for my vacations. Flash forward a few months and after being bombarded with return guest offers from Carnival Cruise Line I booked a cruise. I then shot off an email to the person that had responded to let them know I had booked a cruise. I told them I was sorry they had had to make cut backs and that perhaps if they rewarded their return customers as Carnival had they would have been able to keep some of those jobs. I let them know that my ---thousand dollar vacation dollars would not be coming to see them. I did not recieve an email back but I am now on my third PIN offer from WDW. I am feeling the pull to book.
Just thought I'd drop in to share my story.

one thing is certain, now it's not random, is it?

I'm fortunate I can pick and choose when to go; so, I have flexibility and public codes have been fine for us.

I do feel left out; so, I'm getting disenchanted by Disney; their selective marketing with these special pincodes is making too many people angered.

Even the ones getting special pin codes complain about not getting the dates they need, etc.

I'm making one more Disney trip this year (we've been over 25 times in the last 30 years and we are a long way away) with my 88 year old mom for the Christmastime celebration and then I'm done for quite a while. I really don't want an artificial enviroment for vacation anymore. We are going to start visiting National Parks and historical sites and such. No Disney deal will entice me in the future to change my mind.

I really believe once we change our strategy about vacation we won't look back. I'm looking forward to cruising trips, too. Goodbye Disney!

I totally understand your frustration. We too have been to disney MANY times. In fact, my 8 year old told me she wanted to go somewhere else this year! It does become almost a consumer issue when airlines reward frequent flyers, cruises reward guests, and even disney's credit card has redemable "points" for frequent use. I agree with you.

I am not looking for something I am not deserving or something for free, I just would like to see some kind of "thanks" from disney as being a "valued guest" year after year, that would lead me to believe they appreciate my vacation fund coming their way.

This year is the first time we got a pin. It came to my house in my fathers name. He has never lived here. But when I called they let me use it. My codes I get go for some reason to my parents house in my maiden name. So know I don't think they are random. We go every year and think this is why we never get them.
