My Parents Need To Get A Hobby

My parents will both be 74 this year and they are driving each other nuts!

I'm the youngest of 4 and I work close to their house and I stop by there about 1 - 2 times per week.

My mom wanted to show me what the muskrats have been doing on their lawn (they live by a brook). She takes me into the back bedroom and was pointing out the damage the muskrats were doing and all of a sudden she screamed out "THERE IT IS!" She then started yelling my dad's name and he came running (literally) into the room, told me to "GET OUT OF THE WAY" and he then proceeded to pick up his 22 rifle and raised up the window and started shooting at this poor muskrat!

Now, I don't believe in shooting at things . . .but you have to just picture these two older people freaking out over this poor defenseless muskrat . . .it was pretty comical . . .Thankfully the muskrat took a dive into the brook before it got shot. I don't think my dad has good aim anyhow . . .

I really need to get them into some kind of hobby before they start shooting up the neighborhood . . .

My dad used to shoot woodchucks in the garden with a 22 from the kitchen window.

I felt so hillbillyish...and hoped my friends wouldn't see him.

I have seen my own father on his stomach (military style) rifle in hand, in his backyard trying to "get" to gophers...
