Let me start by saying I'm stayed at BWV twice on cash, this was was first DVC stay, and was at OKW.
My impressions:
First, I loved OKW. I also love BWV. Two very different kids of vacations, which is the beauty of this program.
I liked the size of the unit, and the spaciousness of the patio. I was in building 14, right across from the Hospitality House, which was SO convenient. Like parking outside my room. Didn't like that my patio faced the roadway (blocked by a few trees), but all in all, it was great.
The facilities again had a very different feel from BWV. It felt more like a resort vacation rather than a hotel vacation. Both appeal to me, but again, it was different. Loved the pre-recorded steel drum music at the pool, and the sand nearby was a hit with the kids.
Liked Olivia's a lot this trip (wasn't impressed when I ate there last year, but it seems to have improved both in service and food quality).
Staff was great. Got more 'Welcome Home's than I could handle. Felt like part of a family.
What would I change? The bathroom in the 1 BR - I didn't like that the kids had to come into the master BR to use the bathroom (BW has two doors) -I understand from a friend that some of the 1 BR at OKW do have this feature.
I would add elevators for carrying luggage!! (Obviously I wouldn't really add them, it's just a pain on the 2nd floor when my suitcase has Jimmy Hoffa inside of it). Maybe I'll call Bell services next time!
I would add another ferry to DTD during peak hours (12 people per ferry isn't enough)
Basically, you can see, there was very little I would change.
Next trip is BWV in July - need to be closer to the action again (I like going downstairs and 'being somewhere'), and of course, use the pool there (ha ha ha ha ha)
But I can certainly see going back to OKW again, and can understand why some people love it so.
