I am not detailed enough to post a real trip report but wanted to share our thoughts on the 10/3 party!
The heat was brutal and made it very hard to have a good time from arrival at 4pm until about 6:30, so we did very little in that time.
Lines to enter for a 4pm arrival were pretty reasonable. CMs seemed more organized than previous years with handing out treat bags and wristbands.
It was crowded at 4 but posted wait times were still mostly under 30 minutes. I think it was due to the heat.
During the party we were able to walk onto HMH, BTMR twice, Indy, Pirates twice and everything else was a 5-10 minute wait. The lines to meet the villains seemed to be about 30 minutes long and you were able to meet 4 villains. The line to meet Jack Sparrow or Peter Pan characters looked very short. Even Mickey and Minnie had shorter waits than previous years.
We didnt check out the Cavalcade. We did finally, after 4 years of parties, watch the fireworks. We were not planning to watch but snagged a good spot near the Plaza Inn. We could not see the castle but saw Zero flying. We enjoyed the fireworks but agreed that it wasn't what we expected and its not our favortie.
The villains goodbye show was fun and we were able to grab a seat pretty close by after it started.
Treat trails had long lines but moved fast. We don't go for the candy but picked a few trails just for fun. 5 of us trick or treated, hit 4 trails and got about 20 pounds worth of candy.
We hit this Friday party every year and thought it was considerably less crowded than previous years. It was a lot of fun and lots of great costumes!
