My Nightmare Solo Vacation

I am so sorry that this happened to you. I kinda understand. I was going on my first solo trip on October 18 and did not even make it onto the plane. I passed out at the airport for then unknown reasons and spent the day at the emergency room. I am on blood pressure meds and due to all of the walking I had been doing to prepare for the trip and trying to lose weight, my meds were to strong and my blood pressure dropped to much. I did not make it at all. But my luggage did make it to POFQ.
DVCjj said it very well, and I hope all the same things for you. I also applaud your weight loss and increased exercise, and hope they've got your meds (and blood pressure) at a better level now.

Oh man, I am so sorry! I fell and sprained my ankle at DisneyWorld this past January and it was a real bummer. A break would be so much worse!

I agree that you should contact Disney and ask if they'll reinstate your tickets due to the injury. You never know - you have paperwork to prove it happened and they've been known to do a magical thing here and there.

Feel better soon and definitely do the PT!

How horrible. I'm so sorry your magical holiday was so badly spoiled.

Sorry to hear what happened. I worry about that on solo trips too. Hope you are feeling better.

Wow!! I'm so sorry for you, and the other folks who had injuries!! You never think about these things happening on vacation. I hope you're healing well!

Such a sad story, I'm really sorry you went through that. I hope you recover quickly.

I agree with some of the others above, might be worth reaching out to Disney and seeing if there's anything they can do about those remaining days. Best of luck

OP...did Disney not offer you any compensation other than cab fare? The least they could have done was either refund your ticket or replace it for future use. Are they not even slightly liable for your fall?

I hope this doesn't scare you off from doing another solo vacation in Orlando.
Solo vacations (especially in disney) are typically fun (when you're not slipping and stuff).

So sorry to hear this! Best wishes for a quick recovery and I hope you are able to be back at Disney soon.

I'm very sorry that you endured such a painful time.

What I just can't wrap my head around is that none of your family/friends/anybody was able to come during the entire length of all this to help. Essentially you were injured 5 days time and nobody could be there ?

I feel your pain - literally. While visiting Ariel's Grotto in Aug 2015 and holding my DD5, I didn't realize the step up to sit down was curved (poor design, it should be a straight edge) so when I went to get back down my foot rolled off the step and I broke my foot, sprained my ankle and herniated a disk in my neck! I was so mortified I got up and tried to walk it off. We flew home the next day and after a WEEK of walking on a broken foot I realized it wasn't getting better and went to MD. Imagine my shock when I found out how serious the injury that I had been ignoring was!! I'm still in PT for the ankle and neck and my motivation is AULANI!! Only four more months. Need to be in good shape to hike Diamond Head!!
