Yum! They are so delicious! I recently have been grinding them up for my son, and I tasted some. They are just so tasty and I never realized this before! I guess I would always confuse the taste of them with papaya which is okay, but nothing I'm crazy about. But mangoes, I could eat them all day.

Now, if only I can figure out the best way to cut them... I always end up butchering the thing!

OHHH... they are my favorite as well. I didn't know what I was missing out on. My ex sil introduced them to me. Now, that is one of my favorite things to do on the cruise... go up and get fresh mango at "Scoops" and sit by the Mickey pool  They are delicious!!!

I love Mangos!!! They are great with slices strawberries, too!!! :thumbsup2

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

If you are the least bit allergic to poison ivy, watch out for the mango's skin. The mango tree is related to poison ivy, poison oak and sumac. The oil from the sap of the mango tree contains urushiol (which is the active ingredient in poison ivy to which many people react unfavorably). The black spots on the mango's skin are where the tree sap got on the fruit. After you peel your mango, wash your hands thoroughly. And for heaven's sake, don't touch your face while peeling the fruit (to brush your hair out of your face, for instance). My wife was in MISERY for weeks after simply peeling and eating one mango. She ended up visiting the emergency room twice as a result and was on prednisone for two weeks. She still has a red rash on her face that I fear may never go away.

Mangoes are yummy. They make good salsa. My favorite Nantucket Nectar beverage is the orange mango juice. Just be careful of the mango skin.

I LOVE mangos!!!! :sunny:

I had a mango cooler (well, a few) on a RCCL cruise a few years ago - had not tried a mango before that!!! Now I am hooked.

I had just recently read that about allergic reactions to the skin - I must be OK, 'cause I cut them up for my family all the time.

Mangoes are yummy!!

When we lived in Billings there was a grocery store near us that featured a new "exotic" fruit a week and we would try each one. Mangoes was the only one we kept eating after that summer!!

Mangos are the best! We've been eating them like crazy lately.

Thanks for the instructions on cutting and peeling, as well as the warning about the skins!

Laura

Havent gotten to that Florida thread yet, aye? :rolleyes1

Lets just say "mango's" and "rats" - and even "conga line" is mentioned in the same sentence! :scared1:
