My new baby

Here's my newest baby...born one month premature...and less than half the size of a normal newborn. Here she is at one week.

Cow gestation is 9 months (just like people) and normal weight for a newborn is about 90 lbs.

When our goat was born we sent out a birth announcement by e-mail with her name, DOB, weight etc. One of our friends did not bother to check the attached photo to see that it was a GOAT and told my aunt about it....my aunt called my mom and was really upset that my mom had not even told her that I was pregnant. It was pretty funny.

Before I knew what my DH did for a living, I drove past a dairy farm one day and decided that I really ought to marry a dairy farmer because "cows make me happy." I found out later that night that he was a dairy farmer. Coincidence? I think not!

So cute! My father bought a cottage that he's fixing up to rent, and along the looong lane to get there, a farmer sometimes has his cows out grazing. It's so funny to see them turn their heads and stare at you as you drive by!

So cute and happy that she's a dairy cow. That last picture makes me think I can't eat beef. Those big eyes looking up so trusting.
