We went to our neighbor's house for Christmas dinner, and I noticed a pair of Dream Ears topping one of her trees. I said, "Oh, cool! You won a dream!" She looked at me like I was nuts. I said, "The ears. You won them for the Year of a Million Dreams!" She said, "No, they were just handing them out for some kind of ad or something at Epcot." LOL! I quickly educated her that she had been a lucky prize winner.

I've experienced the same thing numerous times. I usually approach people to see when and how they won, and after asking "Where did you win those (fill in the blank)?" Some have said "I didn't win them, they were just handing them out."!! It's funny how most people are oblivious to the whole thing. I seen people walk away with their prizes from the dreamsquad with puzzled looks on their faces and ones who obviously don't even know how the dream fastpass works. And here we (ones on this board) are near obsessing on winning!

When we were there in September, the family behind us on the Great Movie Ride had the fastpasses. Before the ride started I asked them where they won the passes, they looked at me confused and just said "they were giving them out at another ride earlier today". :confused3 They hadn't used a single pass, and I'm guessing they had no idea what they were or that they could do something with them. :sad2:

We won fastpasses for Epcot during our trip in August, it was pouring rain that day, and we were just walking around, we ran into a dream member who looked at us asked what we were doing, and told us that we really should go down this path, to the back of the building where Ice Station Cool is, and then winked, I immediately said sure let's go, when we got out, he was talking to another family, telling them the same story, and they kept saying no we don't want to go that way, and kept walking away from him, he finally gave up, and they don't know what they missed....

I have heard several stories where the Dream Squad has trouble getting the winner to accept the prize. They seem to think that the Dream Squad is selling something. :lmao:

ha, yeah one of the Dream Squad CMs told me a few people (winners of the larger prizes) have tried to refuse signing the papers and contracts because they think they are being conned into something (like a timeshare).

And they expect people to understand the DDP??!!?

:rotfl: After I saw that, I told my husband "We listen to anything anybody has to say to us, got it?" There's no way we're turning ANYTHING down.

LOL I said the same thing to my husband "Be nice to ANYONE that talks to you - you never know!"

Although I don't expect to win on our trip in April it would be fantastic if we did. We're celebrating a milestone in DH's life, his 40th B-day so it would be great if he got something special for his B-day from Disney.

I can't believe that there are people that would walk away from CM's trying to give them prizes. Not me. Heck no! I'm going to be nice to all CM's on my trip.
