So with NO prompting from me, DH said last night "Do we have to wait 2 years to go again?"

So plans are now underway to go in March 2009!

Looks like an annual pilgramage will begin!

Bex

Hey Bex, haven't talked to you much since we got back. It sure is addicting isn't it. I am so glad you had fun. And you now get to use that mickey lamp post some more ;)

Family traditions are extremely important! What better one to have than a trip to WDW?:goodvibes

Yep, I think it's because I finally downloaded our pictures on the Kodak Picture Frame - I've walked past both DH and DS#1 just standing there, watching the pictures.

DH said "It's the one campground I was really sad to leave... can we go for 9-10 days next time so we can spend more time at the Fort?". I told him he needed to get himself onto the disboards!

:woohoo: Off to play with budgets to squeeze a little extra into the Dis Pot.:woohoo:

We went this past October for 11 days and that still wasn't enough time at the Fort! I'm trying to convince my DH that we need to go again this October! So I'm playing with budgets myself....

Any ideas? popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

Hi Bex, I too am a Disney addict. Also, like you, we live in Texas, a terribly long way from our beloved Fort, about 1000 miles. I see ya'll are Brits. Back in 1972 I lived in Great Yarmoth. I was in High school, my dad worked in the oil field. Had a blast that summer with other American kids and some English guys too.Oh yea, and one certain Irish girl. Cheers!

I'm an addict too...not to camping so much (I'm an admitted hotel gal), but to WDW in general. I've been hunting around the camping site because I want to the movie night at FW when I bring DD5 for a surprise mom & daughter trip in October. I'm starting our tradition this year:banana: .....she and I will take a Halloween trip to WDW every year from now on for MNSSHP.....DH not so much into Halloween, so it will be just the girls. I'm excited and can't wait. I'm obsessed with costumes right now :)

I do have to admit though, the pix from your trip look fun, but I'm still not convinced I could be convinced to camp.

Have you ever tried it? It MAY NOT be for everyone...but if it IS for you, and you never give it a shot to find out.....you'll have missed out on something so very great for the family as a whole. You should by all means give it a fair shot...apparently theirs a little spark loving the outdoors if you have an interest in the campfire and movie...and if you like Halloween so much...wait till you see the fort all decked out for Halloween. I bet you're a true camper at heart and don't even realize it. What would it hurt to find out?

Nope!! I could probably deal with a cabin and may see if I can talk hubby into that next fall (Halloweenish again since he's not invited this Oct ;), and we are already booked at an offsite condo for our February trip (he wanted to try an offsite codo because he likes his space...i.e. he likes to sleep in and DD5 is an early (and noisy) riser:yay: ). I will admit, I've been reading and looking at pictures and I'm intrigued. My daughter would LOVE it. My parents live on a lake in the middle of no-where NC and she LOVES to be there with them....swimming, fishing, chasing bugs.

We'll have to see if I can talk myself into "camping" cabin style.

Children are natural campers! Not being one is learned. Thank goodness it can be "unlearned", too!:goodvibes

Ive been forced to be a cabin camper for the past 12yrs or so, and its a pretty luxurious angle of camping...especially at Disney...the cabins are GREAT! Thats a nice way to start....my wife was against camping all together till I just basicly fooled her into our first cabin at a nice state park....one thing lead to another and we will be tenting as a family for the first time in May(I say as a family because Ive tent camped without them many times when on the road and have always LOVED it).

I have to confess, I am not a tenter - I don't do lying in the floor. However I do do "RV'ing' with our travel trailer - nice comfy bed, a/c, own bathroom, 'fridge. I worked out our 26' trailer was 208sqft and the value resorts are about 216 so its pretty comparable.

We tow with an Expedition so it's practical for every day life too!

Tina rents out her 5 wheel at FtW if you want to give a try!

Bex

Wow, Bex, I never thought of the square footage thing, I just figured ours out it is 338. Much bigger than a value. Thanks
