My Mom and I Are BOTH Having Surgery

Mom is having a mastectomy next Wednesday, the 14th. The doctor says it's just a small spot of cancer, and she opted to go the surgery route rather than removing more tissue and then radiation/chemo, so hopefully the surgery will take care of it.

I am having surgery on the 20th, as I have a nodule (cold) on the isthmus of my thyroid. I'm trying not to think about it being cancer but it very well could be. The "not knowing" is the worst part, I think. It's going to be a very difficult couple of weeks coming up, so if you have any extra prayers to offer up or good thoughts to think for Mom and I we sure could use 'em.

Hi... hugs to your Mom, I am glad they caught it early and I am sure they will take care of it....and to you as well.. If you would like to talk to me about Thyroid Cancer, my daughter is a 5 year survivor of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid and as her Mom, I was very involved in this surgery and her aftercare... Please take care of yourself, try not worry.......thyroid cancer is curable.........hugs..
