But what about the other kids?! I got my DD2 a Cinderella dress at Disney direct and it came yesterday (woohoo) to wear to our breakfast at the castle. I plan to box it up and have it on the bed the night before our breakfast with a note from Cinderella, etc. In other words, it's a surprise.

BUT I have a DS4 and a DD13, who will be getting nothing. Normally, I don't try to make everything even all of the time and it all evens out in the end. A trip to walmart and one might get something... not the rest, and the next time it's the other way around, etc. I have hopefully been teaching my kids to be happy for their siblings when they get something cool, next time it could be them, etc. I think it's working because my kids are rarely greedy (my biggest pet peeve in kids!) or selfish.

BUT... I feel like I want to do something nice for the others too this time. For DD13, I think I may just take her and I to DTD one night alone and let her spend a little extra money than the little ones (she's 13 - shopping is about as good as it gets) but how do I package that up and present it? Or does anyone know of another idea for her... keep in mind that she acts like a diva who's about 20 years old!

And... then there's my sweet little DD4. He's kind, sweet, sharing... he will give anything to his little sister if she wants it even if "he had it first" type of kid. He really, really deserves something special. I know, I know... this is WDW the trip itself should be enough. If it wasn't for this whole princess dress thing - my kids wouldn't be getting "extras" down there, but it opened a door to give them each something special. But I have NO ideas for my son. He's a very cool kid who is pretty mature for his age, and very bright - did I mention doggone handsome, and quite a comedian? (Is there ANY love as strong as a mother's love for her only Son!!!??? )
Any ideas at all???? Thanks and sorry for this LOOOONG post. :teeth:

My ds (just turned 5) loved his Sorcerer Mickey hat. Of course Disney dollars is always a great way to go!

What about a Mr Potato Head? They have that great display at DTD. When my son turned 5 we took him to Lego store and bought him a wonderful set of legos. Have fun and dont sweat it. My DD has got a Sleeping Beauty dress and my sons are just happy they dont have to dress up. :rotfl2:

We have four and I know where you are coming from. My husband said no costumes (we already have one but he wants to pack light!) but I did get them some Disney t-shirts. My older girls got 1 each, my son 2 and my 6yo daughter 3! It just works out that way sometimes...

She is also going to have a special lunch at CRT with me - I could only get a res for 2, so my older girls won't be coming. They were understanding about it! They picked some restaurants out (SciFi, Chef Mickeys, Shutters, Prime Time) and they know that I'm planning our vacation so *everyone* will be happy! If there were a special *boy* meal I'd want to bring my son, but there isn't. So he and I will be at Pizza Planet (he loves Toy Story) while Dad has the others at the SciFi (he would be afraid of the movies!).

You wondered how to present your shopping idea to your daughter - maybe you can put Disney Dollars (maybe about the amount you spent on the dress for your younger daughter) in an envelope decorated with Disney clip art, with a note about how the $$$ is to be spent at DTD??

For your son....I think it depends on his interests. The Mr. Potato head and Lego ideas that Sugarmomma mentioned sound great and I'll be keeping them in mind as we shop at WDW, and I hope we can find something really special (and small!!) to buy for him!

We're having that CRT lunch on the day we plan to go to DTD, so I hope to do all these *special* things in one day!!

HTH!

Maybe your older daughter would like a "My First Facial" or a manicure at the Grand Floridian Spa. That seems very grown up. Or maybe a special mother/daughter afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. Everything is beautiful and served on china, lots of fresh flowers - all very girly and fancy. That's anther very grown up sort of thing you two might enjoy together. You could make up a gift certificate for either one and leave it on her pillow

Maybe your son would like a Disney costume of his own - Buzz or Peter Pan or something.

Actually my girls (6 and 7) did the "My first facial" and "My first manicure" at the GF Spa and they loved it. They liked the facial even more than the manicure.

My DS was 4 last year when we went and we got him the "Prince Phillip" costume to wear around the princesses... thinking they would fawn all over him!! ( my DD2 had the Cinderella dress, too!)

Just an idea!!!

How about a pirate cruise for your ds? I know it is the treat that my boys would most like.

My 5 year old twins have fond memories of the gift shop at the end of the Pirates of the Carribean and are already planning on what to buy there on our Nov. trip. Maybe you could give your son a card inviting him to ride POTC and promise a surprise at the end. After the ride let him pick some pirate stuff. One of my twins wants "a pirate hat, a pirate eye patch, a pirate hook and a PIRATE PEG LEG" :rotfl:

Doesn't disney now let you buy gift cards? Seems to me I heard about this somewhere?

Also, I dressed up my son as a prince and he was very popular! It's easy to create a tabard out of a pillow case and some iron ons or buy the pattern from Jo-annes. Believe me, if I could do this, so could anyone. MY MIL has th pictures or I would scan and put some up.

Are you staying at a Disney resort? If so, I think I might be able to help. I recently stopped my gift basket business, but I have some supplies left over. I'd be happy to drop off something for each of your kids at no cost. If you would like me to do this, please PM me with the name of your resort, the name your reservation will be under, the first name of each of your kids for the cards and the favorite character of each.

If you would like to check me out first, I understand. Do a search on either Feralpeg or Peggy's Sweets and you will find me.

Thanks!
