When I was little, my Mom took me to see Santa Claus.. When he asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I told him I wanted to be stinking, rotten, filthy rich...

It didn't happen..:(

Years later - when I was in high school - I sat across the desk from my guidance counselor and she asked me what I wanted out of life.. I told her I wanted to be stinking, rotten, filthy rich..

It didn't happen..:(

When I was about to marry my second husband, my Dad took me aside and asked me if I was sure of what I wanted.. I said that I was - that I wanted to be stinking, rotten, filthy rich..

It didn't happen...:(

When I was in my mid-to-late 40's, I went to see my gynecologist concerning some health problems.. After a thorough examination and numerous tests, the doctor informed me that I was going through "the change".. "Great," I thought - "I will change into a
"stinking, rotten, filthy rich person.."

It didn't happen...:(

A few years later - when my baby got married and left home - people asked what I wanted to do now that the kids had all grown up and moved on.. I said I wanted to become a "stinking, rotten, filthy rich person.."

It didn't happen...

(Can you see a pattern developing here??)

Tonight (well actually that would be LAST night now) I went to the local 7/11 type store to play the Mega Million Dollar Lottery.. When it was my turn to be waited on, the girl behind the counter asked me what I would like.. I said I would like to be a "stinking, rotten, filthy rich person.."

Once again, it didn't happen.... :(

Obviously, my plan has a "flaw" in it.. Someday in the future I am going to be lying on my death bed - gasping for air - and someone is going to say, "Is there anything I can do for you?" and I am going to reply........................................

"Yes! You can make me a stinking, rotten, filthy rich person!!!!!!!!"

Why do all of these people keep asking me what I "want" if they aren't going to give it to me??????????????

:teeth:

Well that really sucks! ::yes::

Maybe you should drop the 'stinking' part. Perhaps people are afraid of the stench  But I'm with ya.....that's my life goal too.

You may not have S,R,F,R yet...but you are Strong, Resourceful,Friendly and Really nice....pretty good so far!;)
Here's hoping the rest happens for you!

Pam

Oh I so agree with you. My dad always says he's gonna win the lottery, we actually hope he never does as it would put his pacemaker into overdrive.

C.Ann - this is one of the things I really like about youi. You can make jokes when life has served you up some real "doozies"! Thanks for the laugh!

Ya think?:teeth:

Hmmmm...... I disagree, I think you're very rich (the stinkin', rotten, filthy part is up for debate, but then I'm not sure those were the adjectives you were most focused on).

After all, you have.....
.......a beautiful (as I'm sure you would describe her) daughter who, even while struggling with her own contentment, is able to lift up, encourage and "heal" others who struggle with the same....... priceless.
....... a SIL who, even though it isn't in his upbringing or natural understanding, has put aside what he thinks to be truth and has stepped up to support his wife in the best way he knows how. And has gone above and beyond that to further educate and inform himself so that he can do even better.......priceless.
...... a precious granddaughter who thinks you are responsible for the sunrise each and every morning and knows that you love her more than life itself, because it's the little things that speak so loudly....... absolutely invaluable.
........ a sense of humor that transcends all of the bad hands and tough shakes you've been dealt, keeping you sane and full of life......... rare and priceless.
......... 55,000 DISfriends who care very much about you and your family.................. an asset worth at least 110,000 Mickey ears :) .

And I'm sure there is so much more that I have forgotten or don't know about..... so the way I figure it, priceless + priceless + absolutely invaluable + rare and pricessless + 110,000 Mickey ears + undeclared riches = well let's just say Bill Gates should watch his back..... he might fall right off the top of the Fortune 500 list.

Hey - don't forget me in your will. :teeth:
