My Letter to Bob Chapek (should I send it?)

The only way that Chapek will listen is if everyone who shares your views stops attending the parks. Are you willing to stop going?

Send the email if it brings you peace.

I’ll stop going. I already cut down park days and refuse to pay up for the boo bash, MVMCP, etc. My next step is selling my DVC and never looking back. I’ve been without Dis for many yrs before I bought in and will go many yrs without it moving forward if need be.

Well if it was too long for me to read…
Sorry, I also have mixed feelings . One day I am really upset with Disney and the next day , I am on the SkyLiner or the monorail or the ferry boat and can’t believe all of this is available.
I think we are all shocked and worried about price of housing and food and transportation (autos to get to work and gasoline) and taxes.
Disney is the biggest corporation that has a Corporate Name recognizable for all the online fan sites. I can live with anything and change my choices but I do not want Disney to be owned by a foreign entity.
I try to respect that with my daily thoughts about Disney.

the technology aspect is eventually going to come to everything, whether we like it or not, Disney is just a bit ahead of the curve there.

I doubt the OP cares what our opinions are. Or we’re being played with that email. Its the OPs 2nd post since 2018 & they haven’t been back since Sunday. Just a little :stir: ?

Oh......or agreeing with themselves heartily on an alternate account? Maybe it's your alternate account ?! 🤔 :rotfl2:

Prices everywhere are increasing but Disney's are a little ridiculous. The AP ticket increase and food prices are way ahead of the game. With the ticket increase, there definitely shouldn't be an additional FP charge, particularly for resort guests, and even more so for DVC members. DVC members should be given 3 FPs per day as a perk. We certainly pay enough and have shown our loyalty.

Guess not since I didn’t agree with them. Plus I have enough trouble keeping track of log ins & passwords for sites I need. No room in my brain for extras.

This email, even if I agreed with it, is too long for me to read. No executive...or even the buffer employee will ever read the whole thing. It's more therapy than anything constructive. Maybe, if they move it to an internal "negative" tally it might have a tiny weight...but that's it.

I think we all hope we're more important than we are. I'd love to send Bob C an email and have him respond "omg Chicagodisneyguy, you're so insightful and we're making these changes". Unfortunately, the more likely response is "based on your French Slushy consumption this last trip we're raising prices on said French Slushy".

I'm sympathetic to the people that recent changes make it more difficult to replicate their vacations. But at the end of the day, it is what it is. Hopefully for you the numbers are on your side and the changes you want happen. I'm not holding my breath that happens

Eh. He/she is not responding to any post. And no one is really arguing.

My two loves are Disney and Snow Skiing. Ski resort prices are increasing too! The average cost of a single day lift ticket in the Rockies > $150 per day during peak ski season. Some resorts charge for parking. I find the food cost on the mountain is more expensive than Disney! Ski resorts are now charging extra for "first tracks."

My point is, the prices of all luxury vacations are increasing. It's not just Disney. Is it the greed to make more money or the cost of providing an excellent vacation?

And a previous poster called environmental concerns "hippy dippy"? That's ridiculous! Using this phrase marginalizes climate catastrophes. And yes, it adds to the cost of doing business.

I'm not a millionaire. I make sacrifices for the magic. My kids are grown, no need for Genie+. I'm fortunate that my kids first Disney tickets were $39 per day.

I am sad about the money grab too. I feel bad for middle class families that want to make the best day possible at Disney. A Disney vacation is out of reach for so many....

Will I be sending emails to Disney's CEO? No way. They have Disboards, Yelp, Tripadvisor, Twitter and more to access consumer thoughts.

Chapek only answers to investors and the Board, not to you. As long as attendance is up, which it certainly will be over these next 18 months of the 50th celebration, he is NOT going to make changes because a small handful of guests are sad.
'Small handful of guests'?

I think you are vastly underestimating the amount of *******.

The cost of everything is increasing. It won't be long(probably after people's stimulus money runs out} until people are more worried about paying for groceries and gas than a luxury vacation. I'm not sure this forum represents the middle class.

Let's talk the number of complainers vs the number of daily paid attendance at WDW. It's you who is vastly underestimating the amount of Chapek caring about his secretary receiving random emails from individual whiners or 50,000 signatures on an online petition.

I think Florida is benefitting from the lack of vacations options. I know a few families that went to WDW for the first time over the last year just because Florida is open and things are relatively normal there. I will wait until I see better discounts. I'm sure they will come eventually. I don't think these prices are sustainable.
