Leave it to kids to leave a parent pleasantly surprised and somewhat puzzled! Yesterday, I was talking about my older 2 kids and all the wonderful "attitudes" they've been giving us...last night, my girls (ages 11 and 8) decided they were going to make dinner. We weren't having anything special...only pancakes. I decided to let them go and the rest of the afternoon, I could tell they were "planning" something. I wasn't allowed in the dining room after 3 pm. Then, they are on the computer, designing something and printing it out. As DH got home, out the 2 of the them come....in rollerskates and the older one is in a waitress costume.
They escort us into the dining room where the walls are decorated with "Chef Mickey" signs, other signs that say "It all started with a mouse", "Pluto Crossing", "Share a Dream Come True" and my favorite "Eat Before Pooh Gets Here"!!!!
They give us "Chef Mickey and Minnie" menus (done up on the computer
) and turn on the cd player with "Sounds from the Theme Parks" playing! They made Mickey pancakes and even had a contest to see who could name the songs on the cd correctly!!
Made for a wonderful meal!! Kids....just when you think you have them all figured out!!
