Well, we all know how long it took me to get an iPhone. In case you forgot, it took exactly FIVE weeks plus dozens of posts and PMs here on the DIS. Not to mention the fact that I scoured the web for information. :surfweb:

Anyway, now that I have an iPhone, I can't live without it. :worship: It is fantastic! I could not be happier with it.

However....

I DO happen to have a confession to make. :rolleyes1 :guilty: :scared:

I am scared to download apps. :rotfl2: Now don't get me wrong. I HAVE downloaded some already so I do know that one of the main points of the phone is the app system. Still, I am concerned that I'll fill my phone up with apps really quickly and won't be able to download any others on it.

Right now I have four apps on it. Anytime I go to the app store, I immediately cancel out the idea of any app with a "MB" size listed. I just am concerned I'll run out of room!

I know, I know. This is going to turn into the next "Nikki's iPhone " thread, but I need help getting over my "I'm going to run out of space" issues.

There. I'm done now.

Nikki i have five pages of apps. they dont take to much space. so dont worry about it.

I have 5 1/2 screens of apps on an 8gb iphone and am nowhere near capacity. Now the real danger is going broke $.99 at a time:eek:

Plus you can download them and then remove them but store them on Itunes so you can put them back on when ever you want.... You will be find.. start downloading girl!

Nikki, how cool is that! I too have been waiting and after last week's iphone commercial by Pete, I finally broke down and ordered one. I hope to have it soon.

The apps are the main reason I'm really looking forward to the phone, so bite the bullet, download some apps and get going!!

There is nothing to worry about!

I have 50 apps which take up less than 1/2 of a gb! That means I could technically put 800 apps on an 8GB iPhone. That's a TON.

Plus, you can always delete them from your phone and put them back again later. Once you purchase them they are always in iTunes.

Nikki, Nikki....

Download until your heart is content. I too have about 5 pages of apps, not to mention over 1000 pictures and 754 songs. And I still have 1.5gb left. Trust me, you will discover, that while there are a ton of good apps out there, for each good one, there are two bad ones. All you have to do is delete the bad ones and keep the good ones.

I have 74 apps on an 8gb iPhone which is only taking up about 730MB. So go crazy! And as a previous poster said you can always remove them from the phone and still keep them in iTunes to use later.

I have an 8 GB original iPhone. I have 8 pages of apps, and I still have room for about 1000 songs, 100's of photos, a movie, podcasts, all my contacts, calendar.........the only time I didn't have enough room was when I tried to cram too much video on it, like a movie and 3 or 4 TV episodes.

Not to mention you can always delete it if you don't like an app or stop using it or just decide you don't want so many pages of apps to choose from.

By the way, I sort my apps, 3 pages of 'useful' apps, 3 pages of games, 2 pages of 'fun' things (newton's cradle).......

I have a Touch, which I have had for 9 months. I have a few apps downloaded. I have tried Free "lite" versions of Apps first. I haven't really spent the money on any apps yet - haven't made the leap yet to purchasing an application as none of the ones with full versions have appealed to me yet. I have those I use regularly and some I haven't used much at all. Start out with the Free ones if your concerned about buying something you may not like.

Nikki, meet Nikki2.0 (or me, since I am a nervous iPhoner too).

I don't even have mine yet and I am already worried about using it for more than just a a phone call. I have to wait until 6/26 when my current AT&T contract runs out, but then DH and I will both be getting them. And then, boy will you see me here, asking dumb questions like mad.

I haven't had time to listen to last week's show! Was it in Roundtable, or Housekeeping, or as a segment?

How do you like your iTouch as an iPhone substitute? Is it a good way to get the benefits without the monthly bill? I guess it all depends in if there is wifi around though...

Nikki,
I have exactly 1 app (Facebook).:scared1: I can honestly say that I am not using my Iphone to its full capacity, yet. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but I just don't have the time to sit down and figure out what apps I want/need. I don't see how anyone can have the time to do all this stuff with a phone, but I've really had a busy summer, so maybe I'll have more time later on. It's cool and everything, but I still haven't figured out what the big attraction is yet. ( I hope Pete doesn't read this...;))

Have fun with it and app to your hearts content. Just don't be a "bad Iphone user" like me...:confused3

So, I download iSleep (Lite, for now anyway) last night because I had to go into work today and am having trouble sleeping (I am SO on summer schedule lol). I'm going to download more tonight! :)
