They planned and booked their own trip this time. They've been to WDW 5 times, but I usually book for them-and it's usually DVC. I guess I didn't do a very good job of teaching them about the process when they went on their first solo trip last May. They are going again in October-didn't tell us until they booked it because we are also going in October and they didn't want to intrude. When I found out I made an "emergency";) stop at their house to quickly get the 40% off applied to their trip.

It got me thinking, I wonder how often people just pay rack rate because they don't know any better? In this age of computers I would think that is a rare occurance, but maybe it's not so rare?

It is a good thing for your in-laws that you like them... I might have been inclined to let mine pay rack rate.:rolleyes1 (I kid, I kid).

You might be surprised by how many people don't do any sort of research before taking a vacation whether it is to WDW or somewhere else. I'm known around my office as the "Disney Geek" (guess that is a nicer name than others they could use ) and I was giving a guy some info on WDW resorts. I mentioned the FL resident rates to him and he told me that he had never heard of that before so luckily I was able to steer him towards some savings. Despite the massive amount of info out there a lot of people just put blinders on and blindly follow where they are lead.

It feels good to help people save money AND get to go to WDW.
