I have done The Great Movie Ride at least 20 times since I started going to WDW in 2003.I was standing in line during my vacation last week watching the movie trailers when it dawned on me-EACH OF THOSE TRAILERS IS FROM A MOVIE DEPICTED IN ONE OF THE GMR SCENES!LOL:)I told the CM by the door what I had just "discovered" and we both had a good laugh!:)

I didn't know this either, so I am also having a "I Feel REALLY Stupid" moment. ;)

It takes a while to notice those things. We all know what times of year to go, so we never wait in that room long enough to see the loop.

Yeah I've been to Disney over 20+ times and I never noticed that. And the GMR is one of my favorite rides at MGM.

Ya thats right,I would like to say that I new that but I did not:rotfl2:.I hope I do not step on the OP shoes, but why cant they let those cm's wing it on some of the rides??. Not much but a little they are little to stiff some times.

can someone list the scenes? the last several times we just about bypassed the trailers, & I can't remember any except John Wayne. although I 'thought' there was one from sound of music :confused3 but I don't remember anyting IN the GMR from that.

Singin' in the Rain (MGM)
Mary Poppins (Disney)

The Public Enemy (Warner Brothers)
The Searchers (Warner Brothers)
Alien (20th Century Fox)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (Paramount Pictures)

Tarzan the Ape Man (MGM)
Casablanca (Warner Brothers)
Fantasia (Disney)

The Wizard of Oz (MGM)

The Sound of Music clip is in the "finale" sequence, the one with all the "great" movie clips spliced together. OP was referring to the film they play while waiting in line to load.

I realized this on our last trip, but only because we saw the film loop 2 1/2 times. Thanks to the DIS, I learned that there was a cowboy version which we had never seen (only the gangster one before). We asked the CM if it was running and if we could wait for that car. He said sure, but it would be a few minutes. Before that I'd never been in the line long enough to see the loop once.

Tell me more about the cowboy version! We've been many times and have only seen the ganster one.

If I recall the cowboy is the same just different costume. I have never had to wait for the loop and always wish I could. I luv that ride.

In the same vein, do you know how long it took for me to realize that Cruella DeVil's name was actually DEVIL!! My kids had a big laugh because we were watching 101 Dalmatians when I blurted out "Hey, ......
