HELLOOOOO Disney Lovers!!! My name is Sara and I LOVE Disney (to the point where my Dh thinks I am a loon at times). I am the mother to two wonderful kiddos and have wonderful hubby who just doesn't understand the reason I am planning our Disney trip a year and a half out.
A little more about me and the fam. I am 25 and have never been to the World. My mom and day weren't exactly the "kids come first" type, but I literally dreamed about it since I was a child. I love all things disney and completely believe in the "magic". I am a Princess Aurora fan and have a ton of her "toys" that are slowly being passed to my own little princess.
Dh is 36 and although he looks forward to Disney and loves all Disney movies, he just does not "get" it. He has been to Disney once with his exwife and her and her mother's idea of Disney was one day while they were in Florida. No rides other than Small World and no fun according to Dh.
The Kiddos: Ethan is 3 and is a complete joy. He is into Mickey Mouse, Cars and Wall-E. He is our little comic and keeps us laughing all the time. He knows Mickey lives at Disney World and he is dying to see Playhouse Disney Live. Lorelai is 1 going on 14. She is our princess and a handfull. Her favorite doll is her stuffed Aurora doll and she pushes her in her stroller all the time. She uses her blond hair and blue eyes to get her daddy to bend over backwards for her.
We are planning our first trip for Sep. of 2010. Dh is solid on this date and I have been unable to move him. He wants the kids to be able to "do" more and he thinks 5 and 3 are good ages. He however told me that it can be a 9 day trip and I can go "all out". I am still working on him for a sooner trip. I am trying my hardest everyday to get him to agree to a trip at the end of this March over mine and DS's birthdays. But so far it is a big no. Wish me luck!!

Welcome to the boards Sara... Your in the right place.. were all a little goofy! I am so excited for you... planning your first trip as well as your family's is amazing! Talk your husband into going this Sept .. (thats what I am trying to do w/ my Dh too!!!
They also do this bounce back offer when you go to Disney... tell your DH why go all out next year for one trip when you can get two for the price of just one!!
.... i'm in the same boat as u and us nuts have to stick together...
LEt me know what happens...
I get really sad if I don't have one visit to Disney World coming up soon and another one in the long range plans so I don't fall apart the last day of the first trip
This place lets me express how I feel about my visits, knowing that others do the same thing
. My first real trip to Disney World was 1999 on a four day park hopper pass, staying in some place I don't even remember in downtown Orlando. From that trip on, I vowed to visit again, stay on property, and experience more magic! I've gone solo, with my BFF, with family, and with my SO. Every trip more magical than the next. My next goal is to become a cast member (just sent a resume' yesterday
). Whenever you go, it will be magical. Just remember, especially with little ones, to let the magic happen and be relaxed enough to recognize it when it does. It's alot like the kids playing with the box instead of the toy on Christmas morning - it's not always the magic you expect
. A lot of people have different strategies that they will offer up. Some people are 'rope drop people', some are they type to go back to the room at noon for a break, some just get up when they get up, some are afternoon - evening people. Some people are rigid planners down to what rides at what time frames, other's go with the flow.
welcome!
